We champion reforms to achieve a more effective, ethical, and accountable federal government that safeguards constitutional principles. POGO has an over $7 million annual budget that supports a staff of over 50 employees.
POGO is looking for a talented Associate Designer to contribute to the visual storytelling of our mission. In this role, you will help to shape how POGO's work reaches the world — designing digital creative assets that inform, engage, and inspire action. Working closely with our creative and digital teams, you'll ensure cohesive brand expression across platforms while delivering high-quality visuals for web, email, social, and occasional print projects. This position reports to the Creative Director.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Post and manage website content, including POGO articles and investigations, with an eye to consistency, readability, and audience engagement
- →Build and deploy emails and e-newsletters using our email service provider EveryAction, collaborating with digital and creative to ensure accuracy and visual consistency
- →Design graphics and light multimedia for website and digital engagement needs (such as for social media campaigns, website content, or digital ads)
- →Assist with managing print projects, including: soliciting quotes, assisting with print-ready materials, and aggregating and incorporating feedback
- →Contribute to website upkeep and content management
- →Conduct photo and asset research as needed for internal and external projects
- →Other duties as required to accomplish POGO’s mission.
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum of 1 year of professional graphic design experience—or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Portfolio demonstrating a strong sense of aesthetic quality, solid visual fundamentals, and familiarity with design software
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Creative problem-solver with a collaborative mindset
- Receptive to feedback and able to incorporate direction effectively
- Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to take initiative and adapt in evolving environments
- Demonstrated commitment to working in a nonpartisan, collaborative, respectful manner with diverse stakeholders
- Commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
- (+) Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Cloud ecosystem (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) preferred
- (+) Experience or familiarity creating content for social media campaigns a plus
- (+) Experience or familiarity with email marketing platforms, such as MailChimp, Litmus, Constant Contact, or EveryAction, a plus
- (+) Experience or familiarity with website content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or Craft CMS a plus
- (+) Familiarity with HTML/CSS a plus
