The firm delivers integrated financial and operational solutions across Transaction Advisory Services, Transaction Execution Services, Office of the CFO, Valuations, Performance Improvement, Turnaround & Restructuring and Investment Banking. Professionals in TPI are involved in live engagements from the outset, contributing to analysis, execution and client deliverables in coordination with colleagues across the firm. The Valuations (VAL) team delivers comprehensive solutions to private equity sponsors, lenders and corporates across a wide range of illiquid investments, industries and geographies. By applying rigorous financial modeling and analytical frameworks to inform strategic decision-making, the VAL team plays a critical role in identifying value, mitigating risk and driving impact across the business and investment lifecycle.

The Director, VAL role at Portage Point represents a unique opportunity to assume a wide range of responsibilities and make a significant impact on a growing team. This Director will combine analytical rigor and technical valuation expertise to execute high-quality deliverables for middle market clients. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a proven track record of leading complex valuation engagements, advising private equity sponsors and corporate stakeholders and developing high-performing teams. The Director, VAL will report to the Head of TPI, partner with the VAL Practice Line Leader and serve as an integrated member of the firm's VAL team. Work with the Portage Point team members and clients to develop comprehensive valuation solutions

Perform valuation analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments broadly distributed across industries and geographies while using accepted and relevant approaches and theory

Interview clients to gather data and pertinent information

Design financial models for discounted cash flow (DCF), market multiple, market transaction and option pricing analyses

Develop and maintain strong client relationships by delivering high-quality, tailored solutions and providing proactive strategic advice

Help manage existing client relationships as well as pitch new business to both existing and new clients

Report and present analyses and conclusions both verbally and in written reports

Support business development efforts while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients

Share and manage best practices as well as lead internal trainings where required

Support talent acquisition and firm development efforts

Contribute to creating a high-performing and inclusive culture

Bachelor’s and / or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics from a top undergraduate program required

Ideally willing to relocate to or be primarily present in either Gurgaon or Mumbai

10 plus years of experience constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models including: DCF, comparable company, commodity contracts / forecasts and other intangible asset models

Experience on the valuations team at a top-tier global accounting firm, investment bank or financial advisory firm

Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skills

Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams

High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset

Track record of success in high-pressure, client-facing environments
