The IB team advises on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), capital raises, restructurings and special situations. Through delivering bespoke solutions to every transaction, the IB team has direct exposure to firm leadership and clients. 
 
The Vice President, IB // Industrials M&A role at Portage Point represents a unique opportunity to assume a wide range of responsibilities and make a significant impact. This Vice President is a key player leveraging the firm’s rapidly expanding platform to ensure seamless execution and delivery of all workflows essential to closing transactions for middle-market clients. The Vice President, IB // Industrials M&A will report directly to the IB Practice Line Leader and will work on a variety of transactions that provide exposure to various investment banking services, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, private placements of debt and equity securities and other financial advisory services. You will support key initiatives, manage discrete workstreams and work closely with senior leaders.   • Work with the Portage Point team (Associates to Managing Directors) to execute all deliverables necessary to consummate transactions for our middle-market clients primarily on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions
  • Play an integral role on IB teams, provide execution support primarily for sell-side mergers and acquisitions, as well as occasional buy-side mandates, private placements and other financial advisory services for clients
  • Lead the preparation of company valuations, financial models, company marketing documents and client presentations in addition to performing research and various analyses in support of new business generation
  • Create and present internal and external client deliverables
  • Support the creation of client marketing materials (Teasers, Confidential Information Presentations, Management Presentations, etc.) to be distributed to prospective investors
  • Aid with the management of, and compliance with, all administrative standard operating procedures associated with a transaction  
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members
  • Lead internal trainings and best practice sharing
  • Support business development and client relationship efforts
  • Support talent acquisition and firm-building initiatives
  • Contribute to a high-performing, inclusive and values-driven culture
  • Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate program
  • Located or willing to relocate to Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York or Philadelphia
  • Invested in a team-based culture, motivated to collaborate in office four days per week and willing to work at client sites as needed 
  • Seven plus years of experience working for a top-tier investment bank at the Associate or Vice President level is preferred
  • Five plus years of Industrials experience
  • Strong financial modeling skills and an excellent grasp of corporate finance and valuation methodologies including DCF, LBO, merger modeling, trading and transaction comparables
  • Series 79 and 63 licensing preferred or the ability to obtain within 120 days of employment 
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills
  • Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams
  • High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset
  • Track record of success in high-pressure, client-facing environments
