Senior Legal Counsel - AI and Digital assets
Quick Summary
At PPRO, we simplify access to local payments - providing a local payments platform that empowers giants like PayPal, Stripe, and Microsoft to connect with billions of consumers worldwide.
Our magic lies in our team of proud payments nerds. Spanning over 50 nationalities across 10+ global locations, our diverse cultures aren't a checklist; they are the competitive advantage driving our innovation. This is a people-first, high trust environment where you’ll have the autonomy to make a massive impact, own your work end-to-end, and grow through broad exposure, meaningful challenges, and continuous learning. We get things done, challenge respectfully, put the customer first, and recognise that our biggest successes are those we create as a team. If you’re ready to leave your footprint on global commerce, join us.
You'll help our growing payments business tackle what's next: from stablecoins and other digital assets to agentic AI and new product launches. Your day-to-day spans regulatory horizon scanning, hands-on deal work and legal advice that keeps pace with fast-moving technology. Your work will span multiple jurisdictions and legal domains, from contract to payments regulation, and you'll bring genuine curiosity about how new technology actually works, not just how to regulate it.

Advising on the legal and regulatory questions raised by digital assets, including stablecoins: e-money and payment services classification, custody, cross-border transfer rules and emerging digital asset regimes
Acting as our go-to expert on AI, including agentic AI and associated liability, governance, data use, contracting for AI tools and the regulatory frameworks that are still taking shape
Horizon scanning for legal and regulatory developments, and assisting with the implementation of any subsequently required changes
Collaborating with the compliance and risk teams to embed legal thinking into PPRO's product lifecycle and go-to-market planning
Improving legal and governance processes at PPRO, including exploring how AI tools can make our own legal team work smarter
Advising the business on ad hoc legal questions, from IP to corporate law and disputes
Liaising with external counsel and turning their advice into something the wider business can interpret and implement
