We’ve recently begun production at our new state-of-the-art robotic homebuilding plant in partnership with several large homebuilders within the Greater Calgary Region. Powered by Promise Robotics' transformative production lines for timber-based panelized construction, the new plant enables our group of homebuilding partners to significantly increase the capacity and speed of home production within the fast-growing region of Calgary, AB. 

We are looking for a world-class Plant Manager to oversee the entire operation including the day-to-day operations, customer relationship management, and P&L responsibilities at our Homebuilding Robotic facility in Calgary, AB. Powered by Promise Robotics' transformative production lines for timber-based panelized construction, the new facility is currently ramping up its production to enable our group of homebuilding partners to significantly increase the capacity and speed of home production.  
 
The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills and a proven record in operational and financial responsibilities overseeing manufacturing and production operations, particularly in the field of timber-based residential construction. Our Calgary facility acts as an anchor factory for the deployment of Promise Robotics Products, so you will play an instrumental part in the growth of our FaaS product success!
  • Operational Leadership: Lead all aspects of construction site, office, and factory operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics to meet or exceed objectives. 
  • Team Management & Culture: Hire, train, and supervise staff across all departments. Foster a collaborative and high performance-driven culture. By setting goals, tracking performance, and fostering continuous improvement. Collaborate with People and Culture on staffing, hiring, training, and employee performance management. 
  • Oversee Production & Field Construction: Assist with the development and management of production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of products while optimizing labour, equipment, and materials. Monitor field construction performance, including safety, schedules, quality, and compliance. 
  • Quality Control: Ensure all products meet quality standards and compliance with industry regulations. 
  • Cost Management: Prepare, monitor and control budgets, production costs, and efficiencies to meet financial targets. Managing the P&L ensuring departments meet or exceed budgetary commitments.  
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency. Implement strategies to improve cycle time and overall operational efficiency.  
  • Product Development: Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to support product deployment, evaluate in-field performance, and provide structured feedback to drive continuous product improvements. 
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports on production performance, safety metrics, and financial results. Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production cycle times.  
  • Customer Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, touring the facility with them, addressing concerns, providing updates, and ensuring long-term relationship success. Manage client liaison and relationship building, ensuring clear communication and alignment on production expectations, timelines, and quality standards.  
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing health and safety standards and policies. 
  • 15+ years of experience in a leadership role in residential construction processes or a manufacturing environment, preferably in prefab. 
  • Strong leadership ability to build, motivate, and keep high performing teams engaged working towards our mission.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or related industry experience. 
  • Strong understanding of production management, quality control, and health and safety standards. 
  • Proven experience in a role with P&L responsibility by managing costs and driving operational efficiencies. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. 
  • Intermediate computer competencies within Microsoft Office preferred  
  • Ability to travel within Canada and internationally ~5%
