We’re looking for a Director of Solutions Engineering to lead and scale our small, high-impact pre-sales engineering team. This is a highly strategic & tactical player-coach leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, customer engagement, and enterprise sales.
You’ll lead a small, scrappy, high-performing team of solutions engineers while remaining deeply involved in complex customer conversations, technical discovery, demos, proof of concepts, and executive-level deal strategy. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves on critical enterprise opportunities while coaching and elevating the broader team.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of solutions engineers focused on enterprise customer acquisition and expansion
Serve as a player-coach by actively participating in strategic customer engagements, technical discovery, product demos, architectural discussions and proof of concepts
Partner closely with sales leadership and account executives to drive complex enterprise deals from initial qualification through technical validation and solution alignment
Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to prospects and customers across fraud prevention, identity verification, digital trust, and transaction security workflows
Translate customer pain points and business requirements into scalable technical solutions leveraging Proof’s platform capabilities
Establish and continuously iterate upon pre-sales best practices, demo strategy, technical enablement, and operational processes to improve team effectiveness and scalability
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, customer success to influence roadmap priorities and improve customer outcomes
Support expansion into new verticals, use cases, and strategic partnerships
Represent Proof at customer meetings, executive presentations, conferences, and industry events
7+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or other customer-facing technical roles within enterprise SaaS, fintech, or payments environments
Experience leading or mentoring solutions engineers in a high-growth environment
Strong technical fluency across areas such as fraud prevention, identity verification, fintech infrastructure, payments, APIs, authentication, and digital trust
Proven experience supporting enterprise sales motions and navigating complex technical buying cycles with executive stakeholders
Experience working with banks, financial institutions, fintech companies, or highly regulated industries
Strong consultative discovery skills with the ability to align technical solutions to customer business objectives
Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to to engage with both technical and business stakeholders
Hands-on approach with a genuine passion for technology, customer engagement, and technical problem solving
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced evolving environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
