Full transparency: we work a little differently around here.
This isn't just another job where you punch in and punch out. We come to work every day because we strive to earn a living in a meaningful way. Too many people exist without finding joy or purpose in their work, and we believe that's just wrong. After all, we spend at least a third of our lives working—so why not create workplaces where people want to come to work in the morning and feel good when they leave at the end of the day?
At Protocase, your ideas don't just matter—they shape our future. We thrive on collaboration and innovation, where every voice is heard, valued, and makes a real impact. Does this sound like something you'd want to be a part of and help grow?

About the Opportunity
We're looking for a curious and capable Training & Development Co-op Student from DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY to join our Training & Standards team for a 16-week term. You'll work alongside instructional designers, facilitators, and subject matter experts to build the learning experiences that help our people do meaningful, high-quality work. From facilitator guides and interactive modules to training data and knowledge management, you'll get hands-on exposure to how a real organization designs, delivers, and continuously improves its training system. This isn't shadowing—you'll own real deliverables that real employees will use.
What You'll Be Doing
- Help design and build training materials including facilitator guides, interactive HTML modules, quizzes, scenario-based exercises, and PowerPoint decks.
- Contribute to our centralized Training Knowledge Repository by organizing, formatting, and publishing content.
- Support the maintenance of training databases and role-to-training mapping across multiple business entities.
- Assist with internal training audits, sample reviews, and reporting on training effectiveness metrics.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across production, sales, quality, and leadership to translate operational knowledge into clear learning materials.
- Apply structured instructional design methodologies (you'll learn ours) to ensure training is engaging, applicable, and measurable.
About You
- Pursuing a degree in Education, Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Strong writing and editing skills—you can take a complex idea and explain it clearly.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Tech-curious: comfortable with documentation tools, basic HTML, spreadsheets, and willingness to learn new platforms.
- Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Manus, NotebookLM, etc.) as part of your workflow—curious about where they help and thoughtful about where they don't.
- Interest in instructional design, facilitation, or organizational learning is a strong asset.
- Willingness to relocate to Sydney, NS for the duration of the co-op term.
Compensation & Term Details
- Wage: $19.50/hour
- Hours: 40 hours/week
