We're Proton. We build AI-native software for the distribution industry—an $8 trillion market that tech forgot.

We're the #1 AI-powered CRM for distributors. And we're not stopping there. Our second product is live and growing fast. Another new product launches in March. Then more.

We’re hiring a Professional Services Manager to own and scale implementations at Proton. This is a hands-on leadership role managing a team of 7, guiding technically complex implementations, and owning onboarding from kickoff to go live. You’ll be a part of the Customer Experience team as our first Professional Services leader, reporting into the Head of CX.

Our Professional Services work ranges from $30k to $200k and regularly involves custom integrations, including building APIs that don’t already exist. This role sits directly between customers and engineering, taking on complex delivery problems and writing the playbook as you go. The salary will be between $150k-180k + equity.

Responsibilities

Define how Professional Services operates at Proton. Create and refine playbooks, processes, and tooling. Identify bottlenecks and put durable solutions in place. Partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to improve handoffs and execution.

Oversee onboarding and implementation projects from kickoff through go live. Stay close to complex integrations and engineering tradeoffs. Act as the escalation point when scope, timelines, or technical decisions need clarity. Ensure customers reach value quickly and confidently.

Manage 3 Project Managers and 4 Implementation Engineers. Run 1:1s and team meetings. Coach both technical and non-technical team members. Set a high bar and help people grow.

  • Identification and remedy of delivery bottlenecks
  • Stronger retention and adoption driven by better implementations
  • High customer sentiment during and after onboarding
  • Faster time to value for new customers
  • You’ve led a Professional Services or Implementation team at a SaaS company.
  • You’re comfortable managing implementation engineers and project managers.
  • You’ve directly led $50k-$200k implementation projects.
  • You’ve worked on integrations where APIs had to be designed and built, not just consumed.
  • You communicate clearly, bring structure to ambiguity, and make sound decisions without perfect information.
  • You want to be in the office and work closely with your team.

Distribution is an $8 trillion industry that technology forgot. 75,000+ distributors globally. Half of their sales reps still don't use a CRM. The ones that do are stuck with generic tools built for tech companies—not businesses managing millions of SKUs and thousands of customer relationships.

We're building the industry cloud for distribution—and every product is AI-native from the ground up. We started with AI-powered CRM. Now we're expanding: our second product is live and growing fast, another product launches in March, with more on the roadmap. We're not bolting AI onto legacy software. We're rebuilding the entire stack with AI at the core. Our vision is to become the operating system for how distributors run their business.

This is a rare opportunity: a massive underserved market, strong product-market fit (120%+ NDR, 93% logo retention), and we're just getting started on the multi-product journey.

$20M Series A from Felicis (Canva, Notion, Shopify) and Battery Ventures.

Team of 70. Cambridge HQ. We’re all in the office Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
