Role Description The Picks Lead owns Picks as a social-first curation and events product, and as a demonstration layer for Pulse’s content and storytelling capability. Picks focuses on events, places, and experiences, built as a recommendation and storytelling product grounded in judgment, clarity, and trust. The role defines what Pulse chooses to highlight, how it is framed, and how it is packaged for social audiences, ensuring Picks feels intentional, valuable, and credible. The Picks Lead is the primary owner of Pulse’s event coverage on social, responsible for how events are selected, planned, executed, and distributed across platforms. Event coverage under Picks is treated as both an editorial product and a core monetisable content stream, with clear standards for execution, packaging, and delivery. This includes producing event-led content to support partnerships, content-creation briefs, and brand-led storytelling tied to real-world moments. Success in this role is measured by: clarity and consistency of the Picks’ editorial point of view, quality of audience engagement and repeat consumption, strength, reliability, and professionalism of event-led content execution, and Picks’ effectiveness as a platform for premium, partner-ready event content. Key Responsibilities 1. Build and define Picks as a clear, social-first curation and events product. What success looks like Picks has a clearly defined scope, identity, and point of view. Standards exist for what qualifies as a Pick, and coverage across events and experiences feels selective and intentional. Publishing rhythms are consistent, and the product is recognisable across platforms. 2. Own Pulse’s event coverage on social, from planning through execution and amplification. What success looks like Picks is the default destination for Pulse’s event coverage. Events are selected deliberately, coverage plans are set in advance, and on-ground execution is timely, coordinated, and visually strong. Event outputs are delivered reliably and meet agreed quality and commercial expectations. 3. Set the editorial and curation agenda for Picks, ensuring clarity, relevance, and trust. What success looks like Decisions about what to feature are guided by audience relevance and cultural value. Coverage clearly explains why something matters and avoids trend-chasing. Over time, Picks builds a reputation for taste, usefulness, and editorial judgment. 4. Drive high-quality audience engagement through strong social execution and repeatable formats. What success looks like Picks content consistently generates meaningful interaction, reflected in saves, shares, comments, and repeat engagement. Event-led formats become recognisable and repeatable. Strong formats are scaled intentionally, while weaker ones are phased out. 5. Deliver partner-ready event content in collaboration with Sales and Operations. What success looks like Event coverage is executed to a standard that supports partnerships and commercial agreements. Deliverables are clear, timelines are met, and Sales trusts Picks as a reliable outlet for premium event-led content without compromising audience trust.
