About the Role

Reporting directly to the CFO and with significant exposure to executive leadership, you will lead a team of experienced accounting professionals to deliver key financial outcomes for a scaled, fast-paced multinational company. This is a senior leadership position within Pushpay, responsible for driving an efficient, best-in-class operating environment across our Accounting function, with a primary focus on Billing, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.
You will collaborate with senior internal and external stakeholders across New Zealand and the United States. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the Group’s ongoing growth strategy. This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly influential position encompassing operational accounting, and strategic finance initiatives.
You will lead a wide range of projects including digital finance transformation with a strong BI and AI focus, process automation and optimisation, and the enhancement of the group accounting landscape.
Responsibilities
~1 min readWe are seeking ‘Big Four’–trained professionals with strong people leadership experience in Global Accounting Operations and Finance Transformation initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive financial operations experience from a large and complex commercial environment, alongside a proven track record of delivering efficiency, best practices and world class financial control. This is a standout role for a technically strong and strategically minded accounting leader looking to contribute meaningfully and make a real impact.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Manage day to day / week to week operational accounting processes focused on Accounts Payable, Billing/AR, and Payroll, leveraging technology and continuous process improvement to drive accurate and efficient functions, with a high attention to detail.
- →Partner with our Human Resources team to ensure staff benefits accuracy and compliance, including leading the annual US 401(k) audit process.
- →Ensure our key operational accounting functions perform in high quality control environments with effective management accounting and reporting systems.
- →Work in partnership with our Director of Accounting and Reporting and Group Controller to support the monthly close process and our monthly Board and Lender reporting obligations.
- →Work in partnership with our Director of Accounting and Reporting and Group Controller to support our annual audit process (focusing on leading coordination and response for all AR, AP and Payroll testing).
- →Partnering, and advising on the financial implications of management decisions with a data based mindset.
- →Support the forecast and budgeting process for the Group with a focus on Operating Expenses.
- →Support the wider Group with the financial performance of their functions.
- CA or CPA qualified, with 6–8 years of post-qualification experience in large, complex businesses with global exposure.
- Strong accounting capability, proven people leadership and stakeholder management experience.
- Autonomous, driven, and self-directed, with a track record of delivering multiple workstreams to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated initiative, innovation, and sound judgement in solving complex issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multiple teams and partner at a senior level.
- US accounting experience is highly desirable.
- Technology savvy, with experience in Zuora, Salesforce, NetSuite, ADP, and Ramp considered a strong advantage.
