We’re looking for our next Senior Manager, Residential Lending. Could It Be You?
The Senior Manager, Residential Lending is responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction, and support to a team of Residential Lending Managers and Underwriters in a high-performance prime lending environment for the Prime/Insured mortgages. This role is critical to the risk and credit management of Questbank, ensuring absolute adherence to prime-market policies, procedures, and OSFI B-20 regulatory requirements. You are responsible for the rigorous oversight of department goals, ensuring that service levels and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met or exceeded to drive Questbank’s corporate results.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Regularly reporting on service levels, KPIs, and pipeline health as it relates to prime mortgage underwriting and fulfillment.
Monitoring market conditions, industry trends, and the external economic environment to forecast business impacts and provide actionable recommendations to the various internal teams.
Participating in developing and implementing strategies to maximize revenue growth while maintaining strict expense management.
Continuously identifying best-practice improvements to eliminate redundancies and enhance system reporting for better decision-making.
Ensuring total implementation of policies and controls, specifically pertaining to OSFI Guideline B-20, AML, KYC, Mortgage Insurer and Regulatory Compliance Management.
Collaborating with managers to exercise consistent, objective, and sound credit decisions aligned with Questbank’s risk appetite.
Cultivating a robust risk and compliance culture, acting as a liaison with Internal Audit and Risk Management for self-assessments and loss event reporting.
Providing leadership and monitoring to ensure underwriting activities and records meet the highest company and regulatory standards.
Establishing clear goals, providing candid feedback, and managing the performance of direct reports to inspire high-level output.
Recruiting and developing a diverse team, holding effective career conversations and determining optimal training needs.
Championing the Questbank mission and vision, fostering a resilient and energetic workplace culture focused on helping Canadians.

Hold a university degree in Business, Economics, or a related field
Have 10+ years of progressive experience in residential lending, with a strong preference for Prime/Insured Mortgage Lending
Have 5+ years of management experience within the finance or banking industry
Possess a sound ability to plan, prioritize, and execute complex strategies based on data-driven insights
Have a well-defined sense of conflict resolution and people management skills for managing high-level stakeholders
Have strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy across high-volume production teams
Possess the ability to navigate through dynamic environments and drive adoption of new operational practices
Have exceptional written and verbal business communication skills for reporting and inter-departmental collaboration
Have a strong working knowledge of the Google Workspace and advanced data reporting applications
Compensation Information:
Base salary range: $135,000 - $150,000
The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
