SoC Platform Software Engineer

## Company: Qualcomm Semiconductor Limited ## Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering General Summary: We are seeking a System Integration Engineer with strong experience in embedded Linux system integration, secure boot enablement, and heterogeneous SoC platforms. This role focuses on end-to-end system bring-up, cross-subsystem integration, and system-level debugging across hardware, firmware, operating system, and security layers. You will work on ARM-based SoCs integrating Linux, RTOS, firmware, and hardware subsystems, while supporting secure boot flows and chain-of-trust initialization to ensure system integrity and production readiness. Job Description: • System Integration Platform * Integrate Linux BSP, RTOS firmware, and hardware components on ARM-based SoCs. * Enable end-to-end system bring-up from bootloader to application layer. * Coordinate initialization sequences across bootloader, Linux kernel, RTOS, and firmware. * Support secure boot flows, including verified boot and chain-of-trust bring-up. • System-Level Debugging * Debug issues across HW/FW/OS boundaries including boot failures, crashes, hangs, and performance issues. * Analyze system logs, crash dumps, and runtime traces to identify root causes. * Use and enhance debugging, logging, and diagnostic frameworks. * Support system profiling and performance analysis. • Bring-up & Validation * Support board bring-up, feature enablement, and system validation. * Work with hardware and firmware teams to investigate silicon or integration-related issues. Qualifications: * Proficient in C/C++ and embedded system development. * Strong understanding of ARM architecture and SoC integration. * Familiar with Linux BSP, device tree, boot flow, and kernel basics. * Understanding of RTOS scheduling, memory management, and synchronization. * Experience with system-level debugging tools (log frameworks, crash analysis). * Hands-on experience debugging HW/SW integration issues. * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in EE, CS, CE, or related field. Preferred Qualifications: * 2+ years of experience in system integration, platform bring-up, or embedded Linux development. * Experience integrating Linux with RTOS or firmware in multi-core or heterogeneous systems. * Familiar with JTAG, ETM, ftrace, crash, kgdb, or similar debugging tools. * Experience analyzing crash dumps, core dumps, or platform reset logs. * Knowledge of performance profiling tools and system-level optimization. * Ability to read hardware specifications and translate them into integration and debug activities. * Experience working with cross-site or globally distributed teams. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience OR * Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience OR * PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field * 2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or equivalent Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
