Wireless Software Engineer

## Company: Qualcomm Atheros, Inc. ## Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Systems Test Engineering General Summary: **This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.** ### Responsibilities * Perform System level testing for wireless connectivity products, especially WLAN and Bluetooth. * Test: * Protocol functionality * End-to-end system behavior * Performance * Physical layer and RF features * Develop and execute test cases under various operational scenarios. * Analyze results, debug issues, and provide recommendations. * Enhance and automate test procedures and analysis tools. * Work closely with system, software, hardware, and RF engineers to support commercialization and product launches ### Technical Skills Required * Background in digital communications. * Networking knowledge, Wireless Communications, TCP/IP. * Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Preferred * WLAN technologies (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be). * OFDMA and MIMO concepts. * Test automation experience. * WLAN packet/sniffer analysis. * Programming in Python Experience * 1 to 2 years of hands-on system testing and debugging experience is considered a plus. * Experience with WLAN and Bluetooth testing is preferred. * Experience developing automated test solutions and/or Python programming skills. ### Education * MSEE (Master's in Electrical Engineering) preferred. * MSCE (Master's in Computer Engineering) with testing experience is also suitable ### Soft Skills * Strong verbal and written communication. * Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. * Adaptability and willingness to take on diverse assignments. * Analytical thinking and attention to detail. ### Typical Qualcomm WLAN System Test Focus Areas For your group's WLAN System Test organization, candidates are commonly expected to have exposure to: * WLAN/BT system validation * Test automation frameworks using Python * Wireless protocol analysis * Performance benchmarking * RF and PHY validation * End-to-end feature verification * Competitive analysis and issue triage Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits: $104,200.00 - $156,200.00 The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
