About the Role

~1 min read

We are seeking a motivated Construction Project Coordinator to support the successful planning, execution, and completion of commercial and institutional construction projects. This position is ideal for someone with experience in project management, estimating, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination who is looking to grow within a collaborative construction environment.

The successful candidate will assist with managing projects from pre-construction through closeout while ensuring schedules, budgets, safety standards, and quality expectations are met.

This role manages smaller construction projects valued up to approximately $4 million or supports larger, more complex projects under the direction of senior project management. Projects may include commercial renovations, institutional facilities, design-build work, task order projects, and fast-track construction.

The ideal candidate understands the full project lifecycle—from planning and estimating through construction and closeout—and is comfortable working with a variety of project delivery methods, including design-build, IDIQ, lump sum, and fast-track projects. While much of the work is coordinated through subcontractors, experience managing self-performed work is highly valued.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with 2-3 years of experience working for a commercial or industrial general contractor, or
  • At least 5 years of directly related construction project experience without a degree.
  • Experience coordinating both self-performed construction work and subcontracted trades.
  • Understanding of commercial and institutional building renovation, including related site work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, spreadsheets, email, and construction management software.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in active construction environments, including walking job sites, climbing ladders and stairs, and performing frequent site inspections.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
  • Current CQC certification.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Associate Constructor (AC) credential preferred.
  • Candidates who do not currently hold the required certifications may be eligible for a grace period of up to six months to obtain them.

  • Track and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, schedules, quality control records, safety documentation, and project closeout activities.
  • Review construction documents and coordinate with technical team members to process shop drawings and other required project submissions.
  • Assist with change management by maintaining logs, obtaining pricing from vendors, preparing estimates, and developing change order documentation.
  • Support estimating efforts by performing quantity takeoffs using digital takeoff software, 3D modeling tools, and traditional methods.
  • Develop, update, and monitor project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software.
  • Coordinate project layouts by reviewing drawings, utilizing CAD information, and ensuring proper fit and alignment of project components.
  • Assist with negotiating contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Generate project reports using construction management and workflow software.
  • Identify potential project risks and work proactively with the team to develop solutions.
  • Help ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, safety regulations, and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal departments, including Accounting, Human Resources, and Information Technology.
  • Support project closeout activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and value engineering efforts to improve project efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Attend team meetings, training opportunities, and professional networking events.
  • Travel to project sites within the assigned service area as needed.
  • Working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical, or electrical construction systems.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using estimating, scheduling, and reporting software.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
