The Legal Operations Administrator supports the efficient functioning of the Legal Department by overseeing administrative processes, legal systems, document management, and operational workflows. This role ensures that legal operations run smoothly, deadlines are met, and the department has the tools, data, and support needed to operate effectively. The Legal Operations Administrator partners closely with attorneys, contracts managers, compliance teams, and cross‑functional business units to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Manage day‑to‑day administrative operations of the Legal Department, including scheduling, correspondence, filing, and departmental coordination.
- →Maintain legal databases, contract management systems, matter management tools, and other legal technology platforms.
- →Support the contract lifecycle process, including intake, tracking, routing, execution, and storage.
- →Administer legal calendars, deadlines, and compliance timelines; ensure timely reminders and follow‑up.
- →Assist with preparing, organizing, and maintaining legal documents, templates, and records.
- →Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counsel for documentation, information requests, and project updates.
- →Generate reports and dashboards related to matter status, contract workflows, legal spend, KPIs, and departmental metrics.
- →Support budget tracking, invoice review, and outside counsel management.
- →Implement and maintain process improvements related to legal operations efficiency.
- →Assist with audits, compliance initiatives, and policy updates as needed.
- →Ensure adherence to confidentiality, data security, and legal record‑keeping standards.
- →Support legal team onboarding, training sessions, and maintenance of departmental resources.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of administrative or operations experience, ideally within a legal, compliance, or corporate environment.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, legal documents, and standard legal processes.
- Experience working with legal technology tools such as contract management systems, document management systems, or matter management platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general office technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Requirements

- Knowledge of contract lifecycle management (CLM) processes.
- Familiarity with e‑billing systems or legal spend management.
- Experience supporting process improvement or legal tech implementation projects.
- Certification in legal operations or paralegal studies (e.g., CLOC, ACEDS, NALA).
