The role 



We are looking for a PVT Tour Consultant to come join our team. You will play an integral part in creating an unforgettable experience for our customers. You’ll be responsible for assisting customers with bespoke inquiries, handling payments and processing private tour bookings. With a passion for travel and a natural flair for customer service, you're eager to immerse yourself in our vibrant team environment. Your responsibilities



  • Maintain a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers at all times.
  • Assist with meeting team KPIs and sales targets.
  • Process private tour booking payments and ensure suppliers are paid in a timely manner
  • Undertake general ad hoc administrative duties such as invoicing, tour vouchers, passenger lists, etc
  • Answer private tour enquiries by e-mail, telephone, agent platforms or from face to face customers
  • Research, design and price tailor made itineraries and packages
  • Assist with pricing and managing tour series products
  • Create fully detailed, costed and clear customer proposals
  • Source new suppliers and liaise with suppliers from a range of service providers in order to fulfil customer requirements
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of supplier databases, sample tour itineraries, etc
  • Represent the company at trade shows, site inspections, fam trips and networking events as required
  • Awareness of key agents and any Service Level Agreements that are in place
  • General overview of Travel Trade products and procedures
  • Knowledge of Rabbies scheduled tours and how to process these on the booking system (for direct customers and agents)
  • Assist with tour check ins at our Edinburgh departure points and provide office support when required
  • Awareness of Health and Safety policies



Your skills, experience & qualifications 

 

Essential

  • Strong customer service background and ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to multi- task, prioritise and self-manage work load as well as problem solving
  • Understanding of pricing and margins
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to adapt to new programmes and systems
  • Enjoy working collaboratively in a team as well as being confident to think on your feet to and solve problems independently
  • Awareness and appreciation of diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences
  • Experience in sales and awareness of sales targets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good phone manner and written communication
  • A real passion for travel/ tourism and a good geographic knowledge of the UK and Ireland and continental Europe.
  • Highly adaptable and able to respond well under pressure
  • Passionate about preserving our environment and communities and work in a sustainable way that ensures that we leave our country preserved for future generations to enjoy


Desirable

  • Previous experience within a Tour Operator or a related industry and/ or experience within a customer service role
  • Advanced Microsoft office suite
  • Previous CRM experience
