Reporting to: Operations Manager

Wage Rate: $37.46 to $43.41plus $2.95/hr pension and 11.5% vacation pay with increases starting May 2026.

Work Setting: Civil Construction – Civil and Excavation

Chew Excavating focusing on bulk excavations, road works, underground utilities, subdivisions and developments along with demolition, deconstruction, and hazardous material removal.

We have an immediate opening for a Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Victoria, British Columbia. We are looking for a skilled operator with advanced ability and experience in deep excavations and complex civil projects with strong finishing operator capabilities.

Operators at Chew have opportunities to work within multiple divisions throughout the company and the security of several long-term contracts already secured with the BC Hydro and the federal government.  Applicants should be capable of operating multiple pieces of equipment including excavator and backhoe with experience digging deep excavations, shoring support, footing prep, utilities installation, trenching, roadbuilding, etc.
