The Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Logistics Team Lead who brings material handling expertise to the table. In this role, you’ll work in a Toyota Production System environment to coach and mentor and provide on the job training to employees while collaborating with a dynamic and diverse team to achieve shared goals. In this role, you will be a key player in supporting the supply chain serving internal and external customers.  What You’ll Be Doing:

• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Sets an example for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction within functional area of responsibility ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures. Provides leadership and participates in the Risk Assessment, 5S and STOP programs.
• Comply with all material handling and safety requirements, operate lift truck/scanner to distribute, move, ship and/or receive specified parts or equipment. This may require working at elevated heights (up to 50 feet).
• Collaborating closely with employees in functional area of responsibility identifies opportunities for continuous improvement (kaizen) and makes recommendations for implementation. Upon approval, takes leadership role in the facilitation and implementation of kaizen.
• Provides leadership in TPS driven processes and activities.
• Assists in Jishuken activities.
• Assigns, monitors and observes daily work assignments to ensure work standards and instructions are performed properly and ensures goals are met and maintains Standardized Work documentation. Interacts with Supervisor and/or Manager daily to coordinate efforts and communicate effectively with employees. Reports daily results and provides input on employees’ performance.
• Uses problem solving techniques to proactively address issues or concerns internal to their functional area of responsibility, elevating to Supervisor and/or Manager where appropriate for resolution.
• Monitors employees’ morale and make recommendations through communication with management to ensure positive morale for functional areas of responsibility.
• Facilitates on-the-job and other specified training for employees in functional area of responsibility, ensuring all employees are well trained for safe and successful completion of their jobs.
• Provides cross training to employees to provide challenge and opportunity for employees and to ensure flexibility in meeting daily work assignments/commitments.
• Monitors and arranges for proper preventive maintenance of machines, equipment, and facilities for functional areas of responsibility.
• Keeps accurate records of all transactions and audits transactions to ensure overall inventory levels are accurate. Investigates and reconciles discrepancies and is responsible for ensuring department records are accurate.

What We’re Looking For:

• HS Diploma or GED
• Two or more years of relevant or transferable experience

What Sets You Apart:

• Forklift certification
• Associate’s degree in a related field
• Experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, Inventory, or material handling.

Where and When You’ll Work:

• This is an in-person role located at our East Syracuse, NY location—ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
• This position will work first shift.
