Job Description – Summer Camp Assistant Director - Reformed Church of Highland Park Affordable Housing Corporation
Position Description
The Summer Camp Assistant Director will work closely with the Summer Camp Director to help implement daily activities and support approximately 25 youth in grades 3–7. Programming will primarily take place on-site at RCHP-AHC, with occasional local trips to parks, the library, and other community locations.
Program Details
- Dates: July 6, 2026 – August 7, 2026
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
- Location: RCHP – Affordable Housing Corporation
- Pay Rate: $20/hour
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director with daily summer camp programming and activities
- Help supervise and engage youth in grades 3–7
- Support creative, recreational, and educational activities
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
- Assist with transitions, attendance, and daily routines
- Support occasional local field trips and outdoor activities
- Communicate professionally with staff, youth, and families
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Experience working with children or youth required
- Previous camp, summer program, childcare, or youth leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, organized, and enthusiastic
- Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities
