DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Boston Red Sox International Scouting Department is committed to identifying and acquiring impact amateur talent globally and integrating them into our player development system. We empower staff to grow as individuals, while collectively striving to be best-in-class in our player evaluations, analytical methods, and staff development.
This role is designed to build a strong foundation throughout baseball operations, combining curriculum and project-based education, day-to-day project and task execution, and exposure to decision-making processes at the highest level of the game. Prior baseball experience is not mandatory for success in this role. The Associate will primarily support the International Scouting department with exposure to the Acquisitions domain through the following functions:

Power-using decision-making and valuation materials for player analysis and evaluation.

Driving progress and improvements in the international amateur player acquisition processes.

Oversight of the collection, mapping, and cleaning of international video and data.
What We Offer
~1 min readThis program begins in January 2027 or June 2027, depending on candidate availability, and runs through October 31st, 2027. The hourly rate for this role is $20 and includes a generous monthly living stipend.

Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to multitask in stressful situations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience with SQL/R/Python is a plus, but not required.

Prior baseball or sport experience is not required or necessary for success in this role.

This program is designed as a pathway for motivated individuals to grow skills in preparation for future roles in Baseball Operations. Associates will complete the program with meaningful real-world experience, professional mentorship, tailored education from curriculum and project-based learning opportunities, and the opportunity to contribute directly to the success of the Boston Red Sox.
