Appeals Specialist

The Appeals Specialist is responsible for representing the Regional Center of the East Bay at all mediations and formal fair hearings as outlined in the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Act and Early Intervention services Act.

1. Bachelors of Arts or Science degree in Political Science or Sociology or Criminology.
2. Demonstrated experience in a legal environment.  
3. Experience in the developmental disabilities system, preferably regional center, preferred. 
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Basic computer skills required.
5. Excellent organizational skills required, including ability to plan a course of action and follow through in a timely manner.
6. Automobile, valid CDL, and insurance.
7. Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity and an ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations.
