About the Team:
The Relativity Space NDE Team is dedicated to the integrity of our product while tackling the challenges of our novel manufacturing methods. We are tasked with developing and executing inspection of a huge variety of materials and components using cutting-edge industry technology. From crafting in-house processes and procedures that adhere to industry standards, to executing inspection operations, our team maintains a steadfast commitment to accuracy and reliability.
About the Role:
- Work closely with UT Specialist inspectors and NDE Engineers to develop and execute feasibility studies, POD’s, and qualification plans.
- Develop, document, and publish part-specific Ultrasonic inspection techniques for a wide range of complex hardware.
- Evaluate digital UT/PAUT data files for quality and accept/reject criteria
- Develop and publish part-specific NDE techniques for a variety of complex parts.
- In depth comprehension and effective application of relevant NDE inspection plans, procedures, and techniques.
About You:
- Current Level II or III Certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspection in an aerospace or nuclear setting
- Proof of NDE Classroom Training and Certificates as well as previous certifications per NAS 410 or SNT-TC-1A (be prepared to provide these records prior to onsite interview)
- Minimum of 10 years total experience in NDE; 5 of which shall be in a commercial aerospace manufacturing setting or other heavily regulated industry
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering work instructions and drawings
- Experience creating Part Specific Techniques
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc
Nice to haves but not required:
- ASNT NDE Level 3 Certification in UT
- NDE Level 2 Certification in ultrasonics (UTT/UTSW/PAUT), dye penetrant (PT), visual inspection (VT,CWI), Eddy Current (ET, ECA)
- Experience with inspection of additively manufactured materials
- Knowledge of industry standards (NASA, AMS, AWS/ASME, ASTM, etc.)
- Experience with qualification of NDE inspection techniques/procedures in one or more volumetric methods
- Experience with CAD
- Experience with QA/QC and/or Lean Manufacturing concepts and applications.
Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
