About the Team:
The Manufacturing team at Relativity Space is currently deep in manufacturing trades and process development for Terran R, our next generation, reusable rocket. This team has a wide variety of responsibilities—from determining the most efficient factory floor layout, to developing and implementing complex tooling and processes, and even interfacing with the vehicle engineering team to heavily influence the design of the rocket. Unique to Relativity, you will get to work across many teams to iterate and support development of the vehicle program.
About the Role:
The Manufacturing team owns all process development, fabrication strategy, and production equipment for Terran R, our next generation, reusable rocket. This team has a wide variety of responsibilities – from factory floor layout, to developing complex tooling for novel processes, and interfacing with our vehicle engineering team to heavily influence design of the rocket. We leverage our deep expertise to translate engineering requirements into highly optimized production lines, working cross functionally to consistently enhance the vehicle program.
- Directly lead up to 25 direct reports, including technicians and shift leads.
- Schedule and prioritize work while enforcing attendance, safety, and quality standards.
- Serve as second-line technical support, driving root cause resolution and coordinating with partners.
- Manage team performance, career development, and advancement opportunities; including 1:1s, performance reviews, and any corrective actions.
- Leverage relevant data to communicate team progress to leadership and reinforce a high-performance, professional, and accountable culture.
- Oversee equipment, tooling, and 6S compliance across the work center.
About You:
- 2+ years of leadership, lead, or supervisory experience overseeing production technicians/operators
- Experience managing large teams and supporting complex assemblies in a high pace environment.
- Comfortable enforcing policies, corrective actions, and performance management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with integration processes and or sub-assembly production lines.
- Capable of building teams from the ground up, including hiring, onboarding, and mentorship.
- Perform other duties as needed or driven by business need.
Nice to haves, but not required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products Power BI, Smartsheets and LN.
- Experience developing work cells and creating floor layouts based on capacity planning.
- Background in integration builds, pneumatic/hydrostatic testing of components and clean line processes.
