About the team:
Our mission is to redefine how rockets are built and launched. At the Cape launch site, our team handles all aspects of vehicle, payload, pad, and recovery operations. As a Welder on the Launch Team, you'll play a pivotal role in building critical components and systems on the TerranR launch site. Success in this role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced aerospace environment, complete complex projects, and collaborate seamlessly across teams. You should be capable of delivering high-quality work and managing projects with minimal supervision.
- You have 1+ years of professional welding or fabrication experience, with a strong interest in developing your skills as a welder
- You're familiar with basic welding processes and can perform quality welds with appropriate guidance and supervision
- You can read and interpret basic blueprints, weld symbols, drawings, and work instructions
- You're familiar with preparing materials for welding, including measuring, cutting, grinding, cleaning, and properly positioning components
- You have basic knowledge of weld fit-up, joint preparation, preheating, and proper welding techniques
- You're comfortable using common welding and fabrication tools, including welders, grinders, drills, saws, clamps, levels, measuring tools, and other shop equipment
- You understand the importance of following weld procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards, and you're willing to ask questions when you're unsure
- You're able to safely lift up to 40 lbs. and thrive in an active industrial or fabrication environment where safety, quality, and productivity are critical
- You take ownership of assigned work, maintain a clean and organized work area, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop your welding skills
Nice to haves but not required:
- Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or other common materials
- Previous experience with structural welding, pipe welding, fabrication, or mechanical assembly
- Experience reading detailed fabrication drawings, weld maps, or weld procedures
- Welding certifications or previous experience working toward AWS, ASME, or other applicable qualifications
- Previous experience in aerospace, power generation, shipbuilding, manufacturing, construction, or other industrial environments
- Experience working in fast-paced field construction, commissioning, or launch site operations where safety, quality, and execution are critical.
Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
