Why This Role Is Valuable
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Legal & Compliance team at Revantage Asia Pacific as Legal Counsel. You will support day-to-day legal matters arising from Revantage's growing operations across corporate, commercial and compliance workstreams, including the continued expansion of our legal offshoring teams in India. Working closely with Blackstone's Legal & Compliance team, you will provide legal and transactional support to Blackstone's APAC real estate businesses. This role will also deliver operational legal support to Blackstone Real Estate portfolio companies, helping drive long-term quality, innovation and consistency across APAC.

How You Add Value
(including but are not limited to)
- Review and negotiate engagement letters, service agreements, works and consultancy contracts, NDAs, general commercial contracts etc., including coordinating input from and summarising key legal issues to internal stakeholders
- Review corporate secretarial and funding documents of investment structures, including consideration of wider non-legal implications of the corporate actions based on review guide
- Assist with the coordination of Singapore investment committee meetings and board meetings relating to Blackstone Real Estate transactions, including liaising with external counsel and finalising minutes
- Monitor and advise on complex governance protocol for transactions, acting as the main legal reviewer and escalate to Blackstone stakeholders where required
- Support portfolio company on APAC land acquisition process, including review of transaction summary, deviation analysis, outside counsel checklist and coordinating internal approvals
- Review and negotiate tenancy and lease agreements for Singapore assets, and advising asset management team on legal or reputational issues concerning such assets
- Coordinate declarations by Blackstone sponsor group in India REITs to the REIT managers
- Work closely with the Revantage Asia Pacific business teams to provide legal advice on issues (e.g. tax, finance/accounting, employment, corporate and commercial) together with resolution plan
- Work with Blackstone to onboard new portfolio companies and provide ongoing operational legal support, including contract reviews, trademark application coordination, policy formulation, employment matters and conducting third party vendor screenings
- Guide and mentor junior team members in India and act as a key member in ensuring smooth transition of processes to our global capability center (GCC) in India and quality service delivery to Blackstone
- Draft and update standard operating procedure (SOP) documenting the tasks, processes and workflows undertaken by the legal team
- Track, monitor and safekeep commercial contracts and template legal documents
What You Bring To The Role
- Law degree from a recognised university (2:1 or above)
- 6-8 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in a leading law firm and/or an in-house role with a reputable investment firm or multinational corporation (MNC)
- M&A or corporate real estate experience in a commonwealth country, with the ability to handle a mix of general corporate commercial and real estate work
- Confidence presenting to C-suite stakeholders, delivering training, and leading negotiations independently
- Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and sound judgement and ethics
- Ability to operate autonomously when appropriate, with sound judgement on when to escalate
- Ability to engage confidently and effectively with stakeholders across seniority levels, disciplines and cultures
- Self-starter who takes ownership of new projects and drives them through to completion
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Well-organised, with the ability to prioritise and deliver under tight timelines
Desirable
- Mandarin Chinese proficiency (written and spoken)
- Significant experience working with India-based colleagues and/or an outsourcing/shared services center (GCC/COE)
- Understanding of the private equity real estate business and/or the real estate asset management industry
- Familiarity with APAC land acquisitions and/or data center transactions
- Proficiency with legal AI tools and Microsoft 365 applications
