The Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) is the senior clinical and operational leader of the ReviveRx pharmacy. This individual holds ultimate responsibility for the professional and regulatory oversight of all pharmacy operations, including compounding, dispensing, quality assurance, and compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations. The PIC will serve as the primary point of contact for the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP), DEA, and FDA, and will work in close collaboration with executive leadership, clinical staff, and operations teams to ensure ReviveRx delivers safe, effective, and compliant pharmaceutical services to every patient. This is a highly visible leadership role that requires both deep clinical expertise and strong business acumen. The ideal candidate is a licensed pharmacist with compounding experience, a thorough understanding of USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards, and a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing pharmacy teams.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the designated Pharmacist-In-Charge of record with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) and all applicable regulatory bodies
  • Ensure full compliance with all federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, and guidelines, including DEA, FDA, USP, and TSBP requirements
  • Maintain all required pharmacy licenses, permits, and DEA registrations in active and current status
  • Serve as the primary liaison during regulatory inspections, audits, and inquiries from TSBP, DEA, FDA, or other governing bodies
  • Develop, implement, and continuously update pharmacy policies and procedures to reflect current regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards for non-sterile, sterile, and hazardous drug compounding
  • Oversee all daily pharmacy operations, including compounding, dispensing, verification, labeling, and distribution activities
  • Provide clinical oversight and final verification of compounded preparations to ensure accuracy, safety, and therapeutic appropriateness
  • Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all compounding, dispensing, and patient safety protocols
  • Monitor and manage prescription workflows to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant fulfillment of patient orders
  • Review and approve formulas, beyond-use dating (BUD) assignments, and compounding records in accordance with USP standards
  • Collaborate with prescribers and clinical staff to optimize patient therapy outcomes and address medication-related concerns
  • Lead the pharmacy quality assurance program, including environmental monitoring, sterility testing, potency testing, and beyond-use date validation
  • Investigate and resolve quality deviations, complaints, adverse events, and recalls in a timely and thorough manner
  • Implement and oversee a robust medication error prevention program, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of all pharmaceutical products, including controlled substances and hazardous drugs
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all compounding, dispensing, and quality activities in accordance with cGMP and regulatory standards
  • Oversee all controlled substance procurement, storage, dispensing, recordkeeping, and inventory reconciliation in compliance with DEA regulations
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all required DEA reports, including ARCOS reporting and biennial inventory
  • Investigate and document any controlled substance discrepancies and implement corrective actions as required
  • Train and supervise pharmacy staff on controlled substance handling protocols and DEA compliance requirements
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and professional development opportunities for all pharmacy personnel
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, patient safety, and operational excellence
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and competency assessments to ensure team readiness and regulatory compliance
  • Establish and monitor staffing levels and scheduling to support operational needs and service delivery standards

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license in the State of Texas
  • 5+ years of pharmacist experience, with at least 2 years in a compounding pharmacy or specialty pharmacy setting
  • In-depth knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards and their practical application in a compounding environment
  • Strong working knowledge of DEA regulations, controlled substance management, and FDA oversight requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in pharmacy leadership, operations management, or as a Pharmacist-In-Charge
  • Exceptional clinical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Experience in a 503A or 503B compounding pharmacy environment
  • Board Certification in Compounding Pharmacy (PCAB accreditation experience a strong plus)
  • Familiarity with hormone replacement therapy (HRT), peptide therapy, and regenerative/functional medicine compounding
  • Experience managing pharmacy operations during TSBP, DEA, or FDA inspections
  • Proficiency with pharmacy management software and electronic health record (EHR) systems

  • Primarily within a licensed compounding pharmacy and dispensing environment
  • Regular presence in both cleanroom and non-sterile compounding areas, as well as standard office settings
  • Fast-paced and highly regulated, requiring strict adherence to gowning protocols, USP cleanroom standards, and safety procedures
  • Regular interaction with pharmacy staff, clinical personnel, executive leadership, and external regulatory representatives is expected
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing verification, documentation, and administrative duties
  • Regular movement throughout pharmacy, cleanroom, and office areas
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gowning, gloves, and respiratory protection as required by USP <797> and <800> standards
  • Visual acuity sufficient to review prescriptions, compounding records, labeling, and detailed documentation
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move items up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in verbal and written form with staff, patients, prescribers, and regulatory representatives
  • Occasional travel for regulatory meetings, industry conferences, or multi-site oversight may be required
