The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in supporting residents with daily living activities and enhancing their physical and emotional comfort. Working collaboratively with nurses and the health center team, PCAs help ensure residents receive attentive, respectful, and high-quality care.
Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.

Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics.

Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- →
Encourage adequate nutrition and hydration; assist with meals as needed.
- →
Observe and report changes in residents’ health or behavior to nursing staff.
- →
Maintain accurate documentation in written and electronic formats.
- →
Provide companionship and emotional support through conversation and engagement.
- →
Assist with and escort residents to activities, promoting whole-person care.
- →
Recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately.

Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality resident care.
Requirements
