Nox Group is looking to add a Design Integration Manager to lead the engineering coordination and design development on some of the most challenging and exciting projects in the country. This role is the key piece to take concept to construction, and connects the design process across disciplines, aligns design teams to construction needs, and gets the right information to the field at the right time. The Design Integration Manager makes the communication from experience in the field to the design page smooth.
The Design Integration Manager operates across every delivery model Nox Group executes with a focus on alternative delivery and must be fluent in the responsibilities, leverage points, and limits of each. In Design-Build and delegated design contexts, this role directly manages the design development process, setting expectations for subconsultants and driving deliverables to meet construction milestones. In CMAR contexts, where the design team runs in parallel, this role serves as the primary technical interface between the GC, subs, and design teams. The Design Integration Manager influences design direction, facilitating constructability input, and managing the flow of information between the design team and the field. If you are an engineer that thrives in coordinating beyond a single discipline, this is the role.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary engineering coordination lead for assigned projects, managing design development and integration across all disciplines from preconstruction through construction closeout
- Manages the design schedule and milestone deliverable process, coordinating across internal engineering resources, delegated design subconsultants, and parallel design teams to ensure design packages support field construction needs
- Facilitates design and constructability reviews at each milestone, consolidating input from Technical Engineers, field superintendents, trade partners, and project leadership into structured review packages; tracks all comments to resolution
- Serves as the primary point of contact between Nox Group (RMCI / Corbins) and design team, managing the flow of design information, decision requests, and technical issues across organizational boundaries
- Leads the RFI and design change management process at the program level, identifying systemic design issues, coordinating cross-discipline responses, and escalating to project leadership when owner or EOR decisions are required
- Drives scope alignment between design deliverables and contract requirements; identifies gaps between what the design team is producing and what the contract requires, and coordinates resolution before it reaches the field
- Coordinates with internal leads to direct discipline-specific technical reviews, leveraging their expertise to support integrated design evaluations and resolve cross-discipline conflicts upstream
- Supports design-build, delegated design, and design-assist scopes, including identifying, scoping, and directing subconsultant design efforts, managing deliverable schedules, and ensuring outputs meet project requirements and applicable codes
- Coordinates with the internal quality and commissioning teams to align design documentation to close out, commissioning, and execution related priorities complete and outstanding issues are resolved prior to system startup; coordinates with QA/QC on design-related nonconformances
- Maintains structured design management records including design logs, RFI registers, review comment trackers, and decision logs within enterprise documentation standards
- Supports and delivers internal technical training and contributes to the development of enterprise engineering standards and tools
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in engineering design, construction, or engineering coordination; experience managing design teams or subconsultants in a construction delivery context strongly preferred
- Broad working knowledge of multi-discipline engineering systems and their interdependencies, sufficient to lead integrated design reviews and identify cross-discipline conflicts
- Demonstrated ability to manage design schedules, coordinate deliverables across multiple engineering disciplines, and hold design teams accountable to construction milestones
- Working knowledge of alternative project delivery and the roles and responsibilities of design and construction teams within each
- Experience managing RFI and design change workflows at the program level, including tracking systemic issues, coordinating multi-discipline responses, and escalating decisions to the appropriate authority
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to lead cross-functional coordination meetings, facilitate technical decision-making, and translate engineering positions into clear direction for both design and construction audiences
- Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and web-based project management platforms such as ACC, Procore, or similar
- Able to manage competing priorities across multiple projects and disciplines simultaneously, maintaining documentation discipline and schedule accountability under pressure
- Effective at aligning teams with different employers, contracts, and priorities toward a shared project outcome
- Collaborative by default, proactive by habit
Education & Certifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Engineering all considered with demonstrated multi-discipline coordination experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure strongly preferred; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with active pursuit of licensure considered
- OSHA 10 preferred
