The Director of Mechanical Flushing, Passivation, and Chemical Cleaning is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the division’s operations, personnel, and performance. This role oversees planning, execution, and continuous improvement of specialized mechanical flushing and chemical cleaning services to support safe, efficient, and compliant project delivery. The Director provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure alignment with company objectives, maintains accountability for safety, quality, and financial results, and collaborates with internal teams and clients to support successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Direct all division operations, including work planning, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- →Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within approved budgets.
- →Maintain accountability for divisional financial performance, including gross profit and P&L.
- →Lead, mentor, and evaluate operations, sales, and estimating personnel.
- →Set performance expectations and monitor individual and team results.
- →Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships.
- →Oversee execution of mechanical flushing, passivation, chemical cleaning, and related services.
- →Ensure proper performance of derouging, bio-cleaning, hydrostatic and pneumatic testing.
- →Ensure systems are dried to specified dew points and properly pH neutralized.
- →Ensure correct calculation, calibration, and operation of equipment and chemical mixtures.
- →Enforce industry standards for handling hazardous chemicals and materials.
- →Ensure proper use of skids, hoses, vehicles, and material-handling equipment.
- →Maintain compliance with company and regulatory safety requirements.
- →Ensure completion of Pre-Job Hazard Analyses (PJHA) and required safety documentation.
- →Facilitate safety meetings, training, and certification compliance.
- →Uphold CEO/5S and housekeeping standards across all job sites.
- →Travel as required to oversee field operations and support client needs.
- →Collaborate with other divisions to support operational and business objectives.
- →Provide operational support to leadership and assigned cross-functional initiatives.
- →Perform additional duties as assigned to support company goals.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) preferred; equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant experience may be considered.
- OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Technical training, leadership development coursework, and industry-recognized certifications preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in project-based environments, including coordination with operations, project management, sales, supervision, and safety and quality functions.
- Hands-on experience with flow systems, including pumps, mechanical flushing, and chemical cleaning of piping systems.
- Experience supporting hydronic (HVAC) piping, water treatment systems, drinking water systems, and oil and gas flushing and purging operations.
- Required experience working in construction, commissioning, or mission-critical environments.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, bid documents, reports, and company policies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external audiences.
- Ability to perform financial analysis related to project and divisional P&L.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and project-based scheduling software.
- Demonstrated hands-on leadership approach focused on team support and performance.
- Ability to communicate, train, and collaborate with corporate safety teams.
- Ability to work effectively in field, client-facing, and executive-level environments.
Requirements

- Ability to work in active construction and industrial environments.
- Ability to perform hands-on leadership activities as needed.
- Ability to work flexible schedules to meet operational demands.
- Ability to move throughout job sites, offices, and meeting locations.
