Senior Applications Engineer, Enterprise Build
Quick Summary
rapidly evaluate incoming prototypes, data classification, system touchpoints, integration surface, risk flags, and recommend the disposition: sandbox, build, or buy.
Our mission is to democratize finance for all. An estimated $124 trillion of assets will be inherited by younger generations in the next two decades. The largest transfer of wealth in human history. If you’re ready to be at the epicenter of this historic cultural and financial shift, keep reading.
We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world’s biggest financial problems. We’re looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn’t a place for complacency, it’s where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.
Robinhood is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to join Enterprise Build, the small, high-leverage team that turns the company's best AI-built prototypes into true enterprise-grade services. Robinhood's corporate ecosystem is deep, Okta identity, Google Workspace, Slack, ServiceNow, Atlassian, Salesforce, and the agent fabric that makes all of it agent-accessible. When a prototype graduates into a real service, someone has to make it a native citizen of that ecosystem: single sign-on and access done right, provisioning and audit wired in, data flowing to and from the systems of record, surfaces appearing where people already work. That someone is you.
You will own the front of the pipeline: when prototypes arrive at the team's intake, you perform the rapid technical assessment, what data it touches, what systems it needs, what would break, that determines whether it self-serves in the sandbox, becomes a Build engagement, or is better bought than built. You’ll partner with the team's SWEs, who rebuild prototypes from the ground up into production services. You determine how everything connects, with breadth across enterprise surfaces, and you personally deliver the many ‘graduations’ that are 80% integration, configuration, and workflow automation with 20% glue code, where a ground-up rebuild isn’t needed. Between builds, your intake assessments shape what the whole team does next.
Robinhood operates in a heavily regulated industry: ambiguity is constant, playbooks are yours to write, and safe-by-default is the house style.
At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Own intake assessment for the graduation pipeline: rapidly evaluate incoming prototypes, data classification, system touchpoints, integration surface, risk flags, and recommend the disposition: sandbox, build, or buy.
- →Make graduated services native to the enterprise: SSO and access via Okta, SCIM provisioning, audit logging, and surfaces in Slack, Workspace, and ServiceNow where users already live.
- →Deliver integration-led graduations end-to-end where configuration, workflow automation, and targeted glue code beat a ground-up rebuild.
- →Build and maintain the MCP integrations and automations that connect Build's services to Robinhood's SaaS estate, and make them agent-accessible by default.
- →Work directly with business partners to map their real workflow before anything is built, and stay their translator throughout the engagement.
- →Partner with Enterprise Platforms on the identity and application-onboarding paved road, and with Enterprise Operations on clean operational handoffs.
- →Apply approved AI tools relentlessly to your own work: automate the repetitive parts of assessment, integration, and documentation so your time goes to judgment.
- Hands-on experience across a modern enterprise SaaS estate, Okta (identity, SSO, lifecycle), Google Workspace, Slack, ServiceNow, Atlassian, and with integration or workflow-automation platforms (e.g., Workato or similar).
- Strong scripting and API fluency: Python or similar for glue code and automation, plus working depth in REST, webhooks, OAuth, and SCIM. You ship working integrations; you don't need to be a full-stack systems engineer, that's what your SWE teammates are for.
- Proven ownership of at least one significant service or platform area as its domain expert, with sound decisions under medium-to-high ambiguity.
- An assessor's eye: you can look at an unfamiliar app and quickly see what data it touches, what it depends on, and what it would take to run it safely.
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills, you translate technical complexity into clear guidance for both executives and engineers.
- Proven ability to work independently in high-ambiguity situations, define scope where there is none, and build trust across functions.
- Experience in highly regulated industries, particularly finance or fintech, is strongly preferred.
