ROLLER isn’t your average SaaS company. We operate globally across 30+ countries, powering millions of real-world experiences in the leisure and attractions industry. What we build doesn’t just live on a screen. It shows up in busy venues, peak weekends, and unforgettable moments for guests.

Our mission is simple but ambitious: help operators run better businesses while creating great guest experiences. That means solving complex, real-world problems across ticketing, point of sale, self-service, memberships, kiosks, and digital waivers, all at meaningful scale.

Just as importantly, it’s the people. We’re a team of 300+ smart, grounded, and genuinely passionate humans working across the globe. We care about quality, ownership, and doing work we’re proud of, without taking ourselves too seriously.

We’re growing fast, aiming high, and building something that matters. If you want to work on real problems, with real customers, alongside people who care deeply about their craft and impact, ROLLER is a great place to do it.

About the Role

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Partner with the Director of Product Design to shape and evolve ROLLER’s design vision in a fast-moving, scaling environment.
  • Own design strategy and execution across a complex product domain or multiple high-impact initiatives, with a bias toward shipping, learning, and iteration.
  • Set and uphold a high bar for usability, accessibility, coherence, and craft, without letting perfection block progress.
  • Apply systems thinking to identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities across end-to-end experiences as the product surface area grows.
  • Lead the creation of frameworks, flows, and high-fidelity solutions that are designed to ship, be tested in the real world, and improve over time.
  • Explore and articulate product visions that balance ambition with pragmatism and align to clear customer and business outcomes.
  • Make strong design judgements that optimise for impact, speed, and long-term value over process or ceremony.
  • Lead, coach, and support a team of Product Designers in an environment where learning comes from delivery and feedback, not theory alone.
  • Run effective 1:1s, provide clear and actionable feedback, and support individual growth through real ownership and responsibility.
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and success criteria tied to outcomes, not activity.
  • Foster a culture of trust, ownership, psychological safety, and continuous improvement as the team scales.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance development in partnership with Design leadership, helping build a team comfortable with change and growth.
  • Act as a strategic design partner to Product and Engineering leaders, contributing to decision-making early and often.
  • Influence problem definition, prioritisation, and roadmaps through customer insight, design thinking, and a strong sense of what will move the needle.
  • Facilitate workshops, critiques, and alignment sessions that drive clarity and momentum, not process for process’ sake.
  • Communicate design rationale, trade-offs, and impact clearly to stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Advocate for customer-centred decision-making while embracing the realities of scale, constraints, and rapid change.
  • Guide discovery efforts and coach designers to use research as a tool for direction, not delay.
  • Ensure research leads to clear problem definitions, decisions, and shipped outcomes.
  • Lead and contribute to the evolution of our design system, content strategy, and accessibility practices in ways that support speed and consistency at scale.
  • Improve design processes, rituals, and documentation to help the team move faster as we grow.
  • Champion inclusive, accessible, and content-led design as core to product quality and customer impact.

At ROLLER, we look for designers with range and judgement. You’ll be comfortable working across research, service design, interaction design, system design, and content, and you’ll know where to go deep to create real impact. This role suits someone who is motivated, thoughtful, and highly capable, and who knows how to move fast without being reckless.

You are someone who:

  • Is an experienced Product Designer with direct people leadership experience.
  • Has formally led designers, not just supported them informally.
  • Balances hands-on design work with coaching and leadership responsibilities.
  • Operates confidently at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Doesn’t need perfect briefs to deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • Understands the full product lifecycle and how design drives customer and business results.
  • Has a solid understanding of front-end constraints (HTML/CSS) and designs solutions that are scalable and buildable.
  • Thrives in fast-moving environments and brings a strong bias toward action, ownership, and learning through delivery.

You’ve likely:

  • Led a small team of Product Designers or acted as a senior design lead within a team.
  • Owned design outcomes across a complex product area or multiple initiatives.
  • Influenced product strategy, prioritisation, and trade-offs.
  • Shaped or evolved a design system in a scaling organisation.
  • Partnered closely with Product and Engineering leadership to ship meaningful work.
  • Facilitated workshops, critiques, and alignment sessions to drive clarity and momentum.
  • Supported hiring, onboarding, or performance development.
