With a history spanning 50 years, Royal Institute is recognized as a trailblazer in the education sector, consistently delivering high-quality education to students. Royal Institute of Colombo (RIC) is currently in search for suitably qualified personnel to join us as an “Academic Coordinator cum Lecturer” for undergraduate programmes in Information Technology (IT). The selected candidate will be getting the opportunity to lead a pathway programme to an Australian degree qualification in the fields of Software Engineering and Data Science Key Responsibilities Teaching/Lecturing, Academic Planning & Scheduling Being able to teach undergraduates in any one of the areas, Coordinate academic planning activities, including course scheduling, faculty assessments, and classroom allocations within the division. Student support & advising Act as the main contact for students within the division, offering academic guidance, advising, and support services. Assist students in selecting courses, planning their academic journey, and progressing toward their degree, ensuring compliance with programme requirements and academic policies. Quality Assurance & Compliance Oversee academic quality assurance processes, ensuring adherence to accreditation standards and regulatory requirements within the division. Engage in program reviews, accreditation assessments, and external audits as necessary to maintain compliance and uphold educational standards. Faculty support and development Support faculty members in instructional delivery, course planning, assessment strategies, and pedagogical best practices. Coordinate faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions to enhance teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes. Administrative Duties Support administrative duties associated with academic operations, including scheduling meetings, record-keeping, and report preparation. Collaborate with fellow academic coordinators, department heads, and administrative personnel to facilitate the seamless operation of academic processes and procedures. Curriculum development & planning Collaborate with department heads, faculty members, and curriculum committees to develop and review curriculum frameworks, course outlines, and learning materials for economics, management, finance, and social science programmes. Requirements Hold a Master’s degree in Information Technology/Software Engineering/Data Science or a related discipline OR hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Software Engineering/Data Science or a related discipline AND minimum of 05 years of subject relevant experience in the industry. And A minimum of 01 year lecturing experience (Full time / part time) Having good organizing, time management and interpersonal skills. Having previous experience in academic coordination and academic administration at the undergraduate level will be an added advantage
