Act as a key Finance contact for project managers, project coordinators, operational leaders and stakeholders involved in campus projects and facility operations.
Provide financial guidance on project accounting, commitments, purchase orders, FOAPAL coding, budgets, forecasts, financial policies and report interpretation.
Prepare consolidated reporting and analysis across capital and operational portfolios for Finance Business Partners, Corporate Finance, Corporate Reporting and related stakeholders.
Maintain signing authorities, FOAPAL/project structures, active and inactive codes, SharePoint records and related documentation to support accurate approvals, reporting and recordkeeping.
Identify opportunities to improve, automate and standardize financial processes, reports, templates, reconciliations and stakeholder guidance.
Document key processes, support cross-training and escalate control concerns, policy deviations, significant reporting changes, workload risks and unresolved discrepancies as required.
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Finance, Business, Accounting or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting or financial reporting.
CPA designation, MBA or related professional credential completed or in progress is considered an asset.
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, reconciliations, financial controls and accounting processes across capital and operating environments.
Experience with project accounting, including commitments, accruals, capitalization, purchase orders and operational reporting impacts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with financial systems, reporting tools or automation is an asset.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a high degree of accuracy and a continuous improvement mindset.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with sound judgement and a commitment to confidentiality.
