The Network Analyst, student worker provides day‑to‑day operational support for SAIT’s network environment, ensuring reliability, performance, and security across campus. This position works hands‑on with network hardware, cloud networking, unified communications, and application delivery systems while contributing to projects, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements that enhance SAIT’s technology landscape.
Support daily network operations by resolving trouble tickets, fulfilling work orders, and maintaining stable network performance.
Configure network environments as part of project teams to support server, software, and application connectivity.
Optimize network performance by monitoring systems, troubleshooting outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects.
Install and maintain network equipment including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless systems, DNS, DHCP, and authentication and authorization tools.
Support cloud networking by configuring and maintaining networking components in Azure and AWS.
Manage load balancers by configuring and supporting Application Delivery Controllers and load‑balancing solutions.
Support unified communications by working with Cisco Unified Communications, Avaya IP Office, and Microsoft Teams to maintain SAIT’s phone systems.
Investigate network faults by diagnosing issues and implementing corrective actions.
Maintain firmware and updates by ensuring network equipment is running the latest releases.
Collaborate across the institution by working effectively with staff, students, management, and partners.
Drive innovation by proposing new technologies and platforms to enhance SAIT’s network infrastructure.
Pursue continuous learning through training, publications, lab work, and professional meetups.
Model SAIT values by demonstrating SAIT’s core values and competencies in all work.
Support special projects
Must be enrolled, part-time or full-time, in a SAIT Bachelor’s degree program or diploma for the duration of the contract
Experience in networking and telecommunications – operation, deployment, support, upgrades and deployment is considered an asset.
CNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification, Cloud certifications - Azure Administrator and/or AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Palo Alto PCCET, PCNSA or above, Aruba associate certifications – Mobility, Clearpass, switching is considered an asset
