Software Engineer (DATA Modelling/Python)

At Saviynt, we're building a Cloud Cost Intelligence Platform from the ground up — and we want a founding engineer who treats it like their own product. Someone who is fluent in the open source ecosystem, obsessed with developer experience, and who gets genuinely annoyed by problems that shouldn't exist.

 

You'll own the design and development of Saviynt's internal cloud cost platform — a system that gives engineering and finance teams real, actionable visibility into cloud spend across a complex, multi-cloud environment.

Building pipelines, automating cost monitoring and reporting, and developing tools to proactively manage cloud spend.

 

Build FinOps capabilities, including cost visibility, forecasting, dashboards, and actionable reportin.

 

Perform infra cost optimization operational work such as infra rightsizing, decommission of unused cloud resources such as servers, databases and other cloud resources and cleanups as needed

 

Utilize and configure cloud cost management tools, such as AWS Cost Explorer, Azure cost explorer, Cloudhealth etc, to monitor, track, and manage costs effectively.

 

Stay abreast of the latest AWS cost management tools, features, and best practices. Assist team in evaluating and recommend new cost optimization strategies and technologies

 

Collaborate with Engineering and cloud teams to implement cost optimization recommendations and best practices

 

Strong backend engineering in Python or Go (Go preferred for performance-sensitive services)

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes — not just deploying apps, but understanding resource requests, limits, node pools, and cost implications

Solid cloud fundamentals across AWS (required), GCP or Azure (a plus) — billing APIs, tagging strategies, cost allocation

Experience with observability stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry

Comfort with data pipelines — ingesting, normalizing, and storing time-series cost data at scale (ClickHouse, TimescaleDB, or similar)

Familiarity with FinOps principles and tools like OpenCost, Infracost, or CloudHealth is a strong plus

Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform
