Scout Motors Internship Program
We will provide aspiring professionals with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with our talented, inclusive, and entrepreneurial teams. Undergraduate Interns will immerse themselves in the rugged SUVs and trucks landscape, gaining exposure to the latest trends, technologies, and market dynamics. Interns will be assigned meaningful projects aligned with Scout’s goals. These projects will challenge interns to apply their academic knowledge in real-world scenarios, fostering problem-solving skills and creativity while working under the mentorship of our leaders.
This program is designed for current undergraduate students who live in our local market. Please note that no housing stipend is provided.
- This role is on-site and will be based out of our Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan..
- The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly.

The Procurement Project Steering team in responsible for managing and coordinating critical activities across parts sourcing, engineering change request (ECR) closure, and early build readiness. This department is responsible for ensuring timely parts availability for pre-production builds by assisting in data analysis, project tracking, and cross-functional communication.
Parts availability and pre-series builds (VFF1 build in 2026) is a top goal of the company.
Responsibilities
~3 min read1. Parts Sourcing Support
- →Assist in tracking sourcing decisions and supplier readiness for assigned components.
- →Collect and validate sourcing data to support Procurement decision-making.
- →Communicate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Program Management, Quality) to consolidate sourcing inputs and status updates.
2. Engineering Change Request (ECR) Management
- →Monitor the progress of engineering change requests to ensure timely closure.
- →Analyze ECR impacts on components, timelines, and supplier schedules.
- →Support the preparation of reporting packages on open and aging ECRs.
- →Coordinate with Engineering and Suppliers to resolve data gaps or missing approvals.
3. Pre-Production Parts Forecasting & Build Support
- →Assist in forecasting parts availability for prototype and pre-production builds.
- →Help prepare readiness reports showing supply risks, constraints, and mitigation plans.
- →Support the escalation process for high-risk parts by providing clear data and status summaries.
- →Participate in build readiness meetings and document action items.
4. Data Analysis & Reporting
- →Maintain dashboards and trackers for sourcing status, ECR progress, and parts readiness.
- →Analyze data sets to identify trends, risks, or bottlenecks affecting project timelines.
- →Prepare presentations and reports for management and cross-functional stakeholders.
5. Process Improvement
- →Support the Project Steering team in optimizing workflows for sourcing coordination, ECR closure, and readiness reporting.
- →Contribute ideas for automation, visualization, or improved documentation.
- →Assist with the standardization of internal templates and tools.

In addition to living our Scout values, you’ll also bring:
- →Be enrolled in a degree program for Supply Chain management, Data Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business or a similar field
- →Must be able to work from Novi, MI from mid-May to mid-August 2026.
- →Strong interest in rugged SUVs and Trucks, automotive engineering, and sustainable transportation.
- →Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- →Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work in a fast-paced team environment.
- →Detail-oriented with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
- →Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools is preferred.

Initial Base Rate of Pay: $20 per hour
