Responsibilities
~1 min readBecome part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Perform routine audits of BIW joints across body shop zones (e.g., underbody, body sides, framing, closures).
- Validate destructive and non-destructive weld checks (e.g., peel, chisel, nugget size measurements, ultrasonic).
- Verify compliance with weld schedules and joining parameter specifications.
- Audit structural adhesive and sealer application for location, bead size, continuity, and material cure.
- Support validation of adhesive joint bonding strength per specifications and test protocols.
- Monitor anti-flutter and hem flange seal application during closures assembly.
- Record audit findings in standardized quality systems.
- Escalate nonconformities, document deviations, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain traceability of audited components and joints using digital audit tools or manual logs.
- Support weld technicians and robot programmers regarding joining quality and compliance.
- Assist in first-off inspections for new tooling, tip changes, or process updates.
- Participate in weld rework verification and final quality sign-off for reworked bodies.
- Support root cause analysis and problem-solving for joining-related defects (e.g., missed welds, weak joints, adhesive skips).
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and maintenance teams to drive process improvements and reduce joint-related defects.
- Contribute to PFMEA reviews and joining control plan updates.
- Identify deviations, defects, or process variation in the production process or final vehicle assembly.\\
- Work with relevant departments to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor and verify the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
- Lead the timing plan of open issue closures.
- Analyze process data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
- Develop strategies to proactively address potential quality issues.
- Develop lessons learned and root cause analysis catalogues.
- Lead cross-functional meetings on issue resolution.
- Prepare detailed summarizing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Communicate quality action plans to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure transparency and accountability throughout the problem-solving process
