Role Purpose & Overall View

Data Engineer will be part of a high-performing and international team with the goal to expand Data & Analytics solutions for our BI deliveries for all Securitas countries. Together with the IT Team Leader BI & Engineering (your manager), you will be responsible for managing Databricks based BI Platform where ETL will get most of your attention. Continuous development to do better will need the ability to think bigger and work closely with the whole team. Data Engineer (ETL Specialist) will collaborate with the engineering team, Business Analysts, BI developers and Frontend Designers to align on possibilities to improve the BI Platform deliverables. Cooperation with other departments such as integrations or specific IT/IS projects and business specialists is a part of the job.

The expectation is to always take data privacy into consideration when talking about moving data or sharing data with others. For that purpose, there is a need to develop the security layer as agreed with the legal department.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain & Develop the Databricks workspace used to host the BI solution.

• Actively advise needed changes the data model to accommodate new BI requirements.

• Develop and implement new ETL scripts and improve the current ones.

• Implement orchestration using ADF/Fabric Data Factory and/or Databricks Workflows with robust dependency management.

• Plan activities to stay close to Business Analysts and Frontend & BI Developers to foresee coming changes to the backend.

• Improve teamwork by collaborating with different team members and using the DevOps tool to track the status of deliverables from start to finish.

• Ensure understanding and visible implementation of the company’s core values of Integrity, Vigilance and Helpfulness.

• Understand the skills and experience your area needs today and in the future to enable effective cross‑department collaboration.

Tech Requirements:

• At least 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering; strong SQL.

• Databricks expert: PySpark, Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables.

• Architecture: lakehouse/medallion (bronze/silver/gold), Kimball modelling (star/snowflake), Data Vault 2.0 (nice to have).

• Orchestration: Azure Data Factory / Fabric Data Factory, Databricks Workflows.

• CI/CD & DevOps: Azure DevOps/Git strategies (branch/PR).

• Data Quality & Testing: automated tests, schema checks.

• Observability & Reliability: Azure Monitor/Log Analytics, SLA/SLO, alerting, incident mgmt.

• Security & Governance: Unity Catalog, Key Vault, RLS/CLS, GDPR.

• Performance & FinOps: cluster sizing, autoscaling, Photon, caching, storage tiers.

• BI Collaboration: Power BI/Fabric, DAX basics, Direct Lake, refresh best practices.

• Integrations: APIs/REST, files/SFTP.

• An analytical mindset with clear communication and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in working with SCRUM set up.

• Fluent in English both spoken and written (knowledge of additional language(s) would be a plus).

• Ability to communicate, present and influence credibly at all levels both internally and externally.

• Business Acumen & Commercial Awareness.

This role is based in Europe. It's a hybrid working model - the specific set up will depend on the country local rules.
