Responsibilities

  • Serves as in house legal counsel for the company on all legal matters and contracts and manages legal risk for the organization by taking responsibility for providing legal advice to the leadership on all legal matters affecting their departmental transactions.

  • Renders effective legal assistance in the preparation of legal opinions, studies, reports and correspondence, as required from time to time by the organization.

  • Assists the departments in preparing of reply to legal notices received.

  • Assigns court cases to different panel lawyers keeping in view the nature and importance of the cases.

  • Supervises and monitors the contesting of the cases in various courts of law and frequently interacts with Panel Lawyers, Courts and other Law Officers of Govt. for their assistance.

  • Supervises legal research and analysis, identifying important issues and apprising the various departments of emerging legal trends from court decision and tendering advice to avoid unnecessary litigation, etc.

  • Develops and manages a corporate risk management strategy in line with corporate goals and objectives.

  • Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • Serves as primary organizational contact during contract negotiations and negotiates contracts with suppliers, partners and clients to ensure that all the contract terms are viable and any legal risk to the company is mitigated.

  • Provides inputs to the sales team on terms and conditions for acceptance of business and identify risks.

  • Scrutinizes all the contracts/orders received from sales for viability and legal risk and analyses them as per the company standards and policies.

  • Supervises and oversees the review, negotiation and drafting of major contracts, tender documents and other legal documents, as required by various departments.

  • Ensures that contracts and proposals are properly entered into organizational databases and securely maintained.

  • Drives training of Organizational policies and compliance training to employees.

  • Be an ethics ambassador in the country and proactively influence the company culture within the organization and act as a point of contact/reference for the local organization in relation to questions or concerns related to BE.

  • Ensures that Securitas Core Values are embedded within and adhered to through the organisation.

  • Advises country leadership and management on local business ethics compliance matters.

  • Drives actions/efforts in the country to implement the Securitas BE compliance program and ensure that other relevant functions, such as HR, Sales, Finance, Commercial, Procurement and Communications, embed the required activities and controls into their ways of working.

  • Works closely with the Divisional BE Compliance Officer and ensure that local efforts align with Securitas Group requirements.

  • Reports compliance issues, irregularities, and violations of Securitas Values & Ethics Code or corporate policies to the BE Divisional Compliance Officer, and on a case-by-case basis conducts or oversees internal investigations.


Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a similar position with corporate legal experience within a fast-paced, fast-evolving and dynamic environment.

  • Must be a qualified lawyer in Thailand from an accredited law school.

  • Fluency in Legal English and Legal Thai. Any other language is a plus.

  • Ability to identify and remedy complex legal issues.

  • Knowledge of Compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks and typologies.

  • Exceptionally good skills in the legal negotiation space.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and listening skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization.

  • Business acumen.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

  • Proficiency in legal technology (“Pro Legaltech” mindset).

  • Coaching qualification (nice to have).

Role is based in Bangkok, Thailand. It's an office-based model.

The role requires occasional travelling within Thailand.
