You’ll be working on some of the most high-profile water infrastructure projects in the industry, helping to secure Water for Life for generations to come.
The position will be based site based.
Join a high-performing project team delivering complex asset improvement projects across the region. As Construction Manager you will lead site-based construction management to keep works on schedule and compliant with design requirements, safety standards, and water quality and environmental management plans.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Manage site-based construction delivery for assigned sustaining capital projects, reporting to the Project Manager.
- Identify, communicate and manage construction risks, including mitigation actions and hold point planning and sign-off.
- Coordinate site activities with Seqwater Operations and internal teams to meet operational requirements and minimise impacts to day-to-day service.
- Undertake constructability reviews and provide mechanical, electrical and civil inspection and commissioning oversight (ITPs, commissioning plans, FAT/SAT and fabrication inspections).
- Ensure safety, water quality and environmental risks are controlled, including isolations, permits and audits of contractor compliance to management plans.
- Drive smooth handover and close-out: manage defects, verify as-built and handover documentation, complete commissioning/finalisation reports, and update asset information systems.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Appropriate trade qualification and experience in electrical, mechanical, civil or structural.
- Minimum of 5 years of construction experience in the delivery of water infrastructure projects of a complex and multi-disciplinary engineering nature with project values of $3m-$15m+.
- Drivers’ licence for a Class C motor vehicle.
- Demonstrated experience as a construction manager.
- Sound understanding of water supply infrastructure, including dams, water treatment, storage and transport assets.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Australian/New Zealand construction Standards.
- Experience in commissioning management within the fields of Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil (preferably in the water industry).
- Experience in developing and auditing detailed projects plans and procedures to manage risks.
- Substantial knowledge of water infrastructure and treatment systems.
- Sound knowledge and/or experience of the principles and processes involved in managing the successful delivery of projects and work packages.
- Sound knowledge of quality assurance, environmental management and workplace health and safety management related to infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams, consultants and contractors to achieve project objectives.
- High level organisation and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated highly developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise, influence and negotiate with key stakeholders, external and internal clients, team members, regulatory authorities and consultation groups.
- Highly developed written communication and computer literacy skills.
- Experience conducting site inspections, carrying out investigations and providing recommendations.
- Ability to acquire knowledge of, and apply, corporate policies and procedures, including for health and safety, environment and quality.
This position will be offered as an individual TFR contract with an attractive salary.
