About the Role

SharkNinja is seeking a Director level Product Innovation Expert to lead one of Ninja’s Advanced Development categories. This is a high impact leadership role focused on defining the next generation of disruptive Ninja products through breakthrough innovation, consumer insight, and hands on product development.

As part of the Ninja Advanced Development team, you will lead a group of highly creative engineers responsible for generating and developing new product concepts that shape the future of the brand. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, technical depth, strong people leadership, and the ability to champion bold ideas from concept through to executive buy in.

You will work closely with Marketing, Design, Engineering, and global partners across the UK, US, and China to create products that solve real consumer problems and unlock new opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

Apply Design Thinking principles to identify real consumer needs and translate them into Advanced Development projects.
Partner closely with Marketing teams to help define and influence the long term Ninja product roadmap.
Lead and inspire a team of creative, hands on engineers focused on breakthrough innovation and concept development.
Allocate resources across multiple Advanced Development projects and establish clear priorities to maintain momentum.
Manage a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from blue sky exploration through to programs approaching commercialization.
Drive regular project reviews and support project leaders to ensure strong execution and technical progress.
Think critically about emerging product concepts and challenge ideas to improve consumer value, feasibility, and differentiation.
Make difficult strategic decisions around project direction, including when to stop, pivot, or accelerate development efforts.
Interpret test data, prototype learnings, and consumer feedback to guide development decisions and action plans.
Champion promising product concepts to senior leadership and executive teams, effectively communicating vision, value, and opportunity.
Manage collaboration with external technology and manufacturing partners.
Support the transition of successful concepts from Advanced Development into NPD and NPI teams while protecting design intent.
Collaborate closely with global teams across the UK, US, and China to ensure smooth concept transfer and early manufacturing alignment.
Develop and mentor team members, supporting both individual growth and long term organisational capability building.

Responsibilities

Extensive experience leading user centred innovation and product development projects.
Strong intuition for consumer needs, market opportunities, and what drives success in the marketplace.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams developing breakthrough or disruptive consumer products.
Comfortable taking calculated risks and pursuing ambitious ideas with a fail fast, learn fast mindset.
Strong leadership and people management capability, including managing teams across multiple locations.
Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills with the ability to influence executive leadership teams.
Ability to sketch and visually communicate ideas quickly and effectively.
High proficiency in SolidWorks and ProE or Creo CAD systems.
Strong project and resource management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively across multiple concurrent programs.
Experience working with China manufacturing partners on high volume consumer products.
Strong understanding of cross functional product development disciplines including Industrial Design, User Experience, Electronics, Quality, and Manufacturing.
A collaborative and open minded approach, with the confidence to challenge ideas while remaining receptive to feedback and alternative perspectives.
