At SharkNinja, we’re building an AI-native culture. We’re not waiting for the future; we’re creating it. Our people are expected to experiment boldly, adopt new tools, and continuously raise what’s possible to create meaningful impact for our consumers. If you believe the best way to do your job hasn’t been invented yet, you’ll fit right in.
SharkNinja's products are in millions of homes worldwide — and the software inside them is getting smarter, faster. We're looking for a VP of Embedded Software to build and lead the global organization that makes it all work: firmware, device software, and controls engineering, unified under one roof.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a technical leader who wants to shape how a world-class consumer electronics company develops connected products at scale. You'll lead teams across the US, China, and beyond, working alongside Hardware, Advanced Development, and Controls to bring best-in-class embedded engineering to every product we ship.
You'll set the vision and run the organization — not just manage it. That means:
- Building the team: Hiring, developing, and inspiring a global bench of engineers, tech leads, and managers who take real ownership of their craft
- Setting the standard: Defining engineering practices, tooling, and quality frameworks that work for real-time and embedded systems across distributed teams
- Driving alignment: Bridging firmware, software, and controls disciplines so requirements, architecture, and validation are tight from day one — not an afterthought
- Owning delivery: Accountable for quality and execution across the device software portfolio, including QA and test automation at the embedded level
- Representing the org: Communicating strategy, tradeoffs, and progress clearly at the executive level and across cross-functional partners
You've done this before. You've built and led embedded or firmware engineering organizations at scale — globally — and you know what good looks like at every layer of the stack.
You bring:
- Deep embedded systems expertise: RTOS, firmware lifecycle, device controls architecture
- A track record of scaling embedded QA and automated testing that actually sticks
- Experience leading distributed teams across regions, including Asia-based orgs
- Strong systems thinking — you can define and enforce integration frameworks across hardware/firmware/software boundaries
- Executive-level communication skills: you can translate technical complexity into clear strategy for both engineering and business audiences
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Consumer electronics, IoT, or connected product background
- Familiarity with BLE/Wi-Fi connectivity and device-to-cloud patterns
- Experience with HIL testing, CI/CD for firmware, or embedded QA infrastructure
- Exposure to controls engineering and bridging it with software workflows
- Managing vendor or offshore development relationships with accountability for quality
We move fast, we ship globally, and we care deeply about the quality of what goes into people's homes. If you want to lead a team doing technically hard work that ends up in products millions of people use every day — this is it.
