The Sikh Research Institute (SikhRI) connects people with the wisdom of Sikhi through accessible educational resources and experiences. We aim to inspire a deeper understanding and appreciation of Sikh heritage, principles, and practices, fostering critical thinking and strengthening the global Sikh community. Our work includes developing curricula, hosting leadership programs, undertaking research, facilitating workshops, and making the Guru Granth Sahib more accessible globally.
The Marketing Director will be the strategic architect of SikhRI’s brand presence. This leader will oversee all facets of marketing—from storytelling and community engagement to content strategy and digital growth—translating the organization’s mission into powerful narratives that resonate globally.
The ideal candidate blends creative instinct with analytical rigor and thrives in purpose-driven environments where impact is measured by both reach and depth. You will report directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Define and evolve SikhRI’s brand positioning to ensure consistency across all platforms.
- Develop annual and quarterly marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop a distinctive brand voice that embodies Sikh values and remains relevant in the contemporary world.
- Oversee digital, print, and experiential marketing campaigns for SikhRI programs, courses, and events.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and launch integrated campaigns that increase awareness, engagement, and participation.
- Lead storytelling efforts across social media, newsletters, podcasts, and video channels.
- Drive growth across digital platforms through SEO, SEM, social media, and partnerships.
- Track and analyze marketing performance to provide actionable insights for optimization.
- Leverage data-driven approaches to improve user engagement and retention.
- Cultivate and expand the SikhRI community—comprising learners, educators, and supporters—through meaningful outreach and content.
- Manage strategic collaborations and partnerships with institutions, influencers, and thought leaders to drive innovation and growth.
- Build and mentor a high-performing marketing team (internal and freelance).
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with content, design, education, and development teams.
Requirements

- Strong background in brand building, digital marketing, and campaign management.
- Proven ability to craft and communicate compelling stories that inspire diverse audiences.
- Experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics, HubSpot, etc.) and content management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have

- Understanding or interest in Sikh principles, heritage, and values.
- Global mindset with sensitivity to diverse audiences.
- Stationed in Mohali, with virtual collaboration across global teams.
- Standard shift: 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM IST.
- Requires flexibility to work across time zones (North America & India).
