The Client Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day needs, requests, and projects related to assigned distributed client publishers. They will serve as the primary contact and liaison between S&S Sales, Digital Operations, warehouse operations, finance, customer service, and the client. The Client Manager will work closely with the Associate Director to identify scalable solutions, multi-client projects, and challenges which impact client business. They will be responsible for regular reporting and communication with the Associate Director, as it relates to client publisher business, focus titles, client goals, and outstanding issues via weekly updates and in person meetings. This position will allow a committed and enthusiastic publishing professional the opportunity to develop critical skills and a comprehensive understanding of the sales and distribution of books in both domestic and international markets. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and quickly changing business environment and will be open to new challenges and increased responsibilities.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Monitor and promote client business objectives and goals, including the management of and preparation for meetings, conferences, and new product introductions across all accounts, channels, and markets.
Provide solutions and strategic guidance as it relates to challenges and/or issues which prevent sales from effectively selling in client titles.
Ensure that clients are educated on promotional opportunities and market trends across all accounts and channels.
Supporting day to day communication with sales on client title opportunities, missing orders, missing estimates, and forecasting/reporting of monthly and annual revenues
Play ad hoc advisory role on inventory levels, reprints strategy, and develop title level forecasts in partnership with sales, the Associate Director, and your clients.
COMMUNICATION
Maintain professional and timely communication with clients via emails, phone calls, conference calls, and in person meetings as needed.
Manage multi-client communications related to S&S changes, announcements, processes, resources, key due dates, and deadlines.
Solicit and summarize product feedback from sales as requested by sales or Account Executive.
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ Years of account management experience
2+ Years of sales experience or in support of a sales organization
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, AI tools, and sales reporting software
Experience in Business and/or inventory analysis
Love of books, new and traditional media, print and digital content.
