Job Description – Electrical Maintenance Technician Position: Electrical Maintenance Technician Location: Singapore Salary: Depends upon experience Experience: 3–6 Years preferred Position Overview The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations within the facility. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing electrical faults, and ensuring that all electrical installations comply with safety standards and operational requirements. The technician will work closely with maintenance teams, supervisors, and production staff to minimize downtime and maintain equipment efficiency. Key Responsibilities Electrical System Maintenance Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. Maintain electrical panels, motors, wiring systems, and control circuits. Diagnose electrical faults and perform necessary corrective actions. Conduct preventive maintenance according to maintenance schedules. Equipment Troubleshooting Identify electrical issues in machinery and production equipment. Use electrical testing tools such as multimeters and insulation testers. Replace defective electrical components including relays, contactors, switches, and sensors. Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to reduce downtime. Installation and Electrical Work Install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to engineering specifications. Perform electrical panel wiring, cable laying, and equipment connections. Support electrical upgrades and modifications within the facility. Ensure proper grounding and electrical safety compliance. Safety and Compliance Follow workplace electrical safety standards and regulations. Use personal protective equipment when performing electrical work. Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety requirements. Report electrical hazards and unsafe conditions immediately. Documentation and Reporting Maintain records of electrical maintenance activities. Document equipment faults, repairs, and replacement parts used. Assist in preparing maintenance reports and inspection logs. Coordinate with supervisors regarding maintenance schedules. Essential Qualifications Diploma / ITI / Technical Certification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology. Minimum 3–6 years of experience in electrical maintenance or industrial electrical work. Experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments is preferred. Required Skills Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and control panels. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Experience in motor control systems and electrical distribution systems. Knowledge of PLC systems and automation will be an advantage. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
