Job Title: Instrumentation Inspector Location: Oman Experience: Minimum 5 Years Role Overview: An Instrumentation Inspector is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying instrumentation systems and equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The role involves monitoring installation, calibration, and commissioning activities, ensuring all instrumentation works meet industry standards and client requirements. Key Responsibilities: Conduct inspections of instrumentation systems including control valves, transmitters, sensors, analyzers, and field instruments Verify installation, calibration, and testing activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and standards Monitor cable laying, wiring, termination, and loop checking activities Perform quality checks during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning stages Review and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical documents Ensure compliance with international standards such as ISA, IEC, API, and project-specific requirements Witness and verify calibration, functional testing, and loop testing of instruments Inspect control panels, junction boxes, marshalling cabinets, and DCS/PLC systems Identify defects, non-conformities, and deviations, and recommend corrective actions Prepare inspection reports, test records, and documentation Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, project teams, and contractors for inspection activities Ensure proper installation of earthing, grounding, and hazardous area compliance (Ex-proof systems) Monitor adherence to safety procedures and environmental regulations Qualifications & Experience: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field Minimum 5 years of experience as an Instrumentation Inspector in construction, oil & gas, or industrial projects Experience in EPC projects is highly preferred Familiarity with international codes and standards (ISA, IEC, ATEX, API, ISO) Skills Required: Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems and control processes Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (P&ID, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams) Hands-on experience in calibration, loop checking, and commissioning Knowledge of hazardous area classifications and safety practices Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Good communication and coordination skills Proficiency in documentation and reporting
