We are seeking a skilled Automotive Painter to perform vehicle painting, refinishing, polishing, and paint preparation activities across our dealership operations in Anuradhapura, Yakkala, and Ehiliyagoda. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high-quality finishing standards across accident repairs, repainting work, touch-up operations, and bodyshop activities for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and electric vehicles (EVs).

This role plays a key part in maintaining bodyshop quality standards, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency while ensuring repairs and refinishing work are completed according to company and manufacturer standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicles and damaged panels for painting through sanding, masking, priming, surface preparation, and paint mixing activities.
  • Perform spray painting, refinishing, touch-up repairs, polishing, and paint correction work while maintaining color matching accuracy and high-quality finishing standards.
  • Operate paint booths, spray guns, polishing tools, and paint preparation equipment safely and effectively.
  • Conduct final paint inspections and quality checks to ensure completed work meets customer expectations and company standards.
  • Coordinate with panel beaters, workshop supervisors, service advisers, and technical teams to support accident repair workflows and bodyshop productivity.
  • Support workshop efficiency by maintaining cleanliness, equipment upkeep, paint inventory organization, and operational discipline.
  • Communicate repair progress and repainting requirements with relevant departments to support timely vehicle delivery.
  • Adhere to workshop safety standards, environmental compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in automotive painting and refinishing operations.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle painting techniques, paint preparation, and refinishing processes.
  • Experience in spray painting, polishing, color matching, and surface preparation.
  • Ability to work with paint booths, painting tools, and refinishing equipment.
  • Good understanding of bodyshop operations and repair coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to finishing quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced workshop and bodyshop environment.
  • Fluency in Sinhala; English communication skills are an advantage.
  • Technical qualification or vocational training in automotive painting or refinishing.
  • Experience working in dealership bodyshop operations.
  • Familiarity with manufacturer paint standards and repair procedures.
  • Experience working on passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and EVs.
  • Exposure to computerized paint mixing systems.
