Home Care Billing Specialist

OVERVIEW We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Home Care Billing Specialist to support a rapidly growing multi-state home care organization. This individual will manage the full billing lifecycle, including claims submission, insurance follow-ups, denial management, payment posting, and accounts receivable resolution across multiple payer sources. The ideal candidate has strong English communication skills, prior U.S. healthcare billing experience, and is comfortable communicating directly with insurance companies while coordinating internally with operations and clinical teams. RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage end-to-end healthcare billing operations • Submit, track, and resubmit insurance claims • Conduct AR follow-ups on unpaid or denied claims • Communicate directly with Medicaid, managed care, and private insurance payers • Resolve claim denials and rejections • Post payments and reconcile billing discrepancies • Assist with authorization-related workflows • Maintain accurate billing notes and reporting • Coordinate internally regarding claim statuses and required documentation • Utilize HHA Exchange, EVV systems, insurance portals, Excel, and Smartsheet • Escalate unresolved billing issues proactively REQUIRED EXPERIENCE • 2–3+ years of U.S. healthcare billing and AR follow-up experience • Strong understanding of Medicaid and managed care billing workflows • Experience handling insurance claims, denials, and payment posting • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills • Comfortable speaking directly with insurance companies by phone • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment • Proficiency with Excel and healthcare billing systems PREFERRED EXPERIENCE • HCBS billing experience strongly preferred • Home care or home health industry experience preferred • EVV and/or HHA Exchange experience preferred • Multi-state billing experience preferred • Smartsheet experience preferred REQUIRED SKILLS • Healthcare Billing • AR Follow-Up • Claims Management • Insurance Verification • HHA Exchange • Medicaid Billing • Excel • Communication Skills
