Our global Sofar team is deeply passionate about music and the work we do. When we’re not working, you can probably find us at a live show or telling anyone in earshot about the new song we can’t stop listening to. Discovering and supporting artists gets us out of bed every morning – and knowing that we’re creating memorable, intimate fan experiences worldwide drives our work forward.

As the Artist Booker for our Sofar London market, you’ll be responsible for booking world class emerging talent across all genres, ensuring diversity and inclusion standards are met across all shows. You will be responsible for booking artists across a complex show schedule (30-40 shows per month), working in partnership with the Bookings & Operations Coordinator and Assistant. You will also support private and partnership pitches and bookings, tailoring suggestions to the client brief. 

As the first point of contact for our Artists, you will be responsible for ensuring artists have everything they need prior to the show, including production and sound requirements are covered. You’ll build relationships with Artists, sending regular communication and spotting opportunities. 

You will be responsible for scouting artists, building relationships with labels, managers and agents to find rising talent and curate artist-led premium experiences. You will also oversee the running of the artist committee made up of key Sofar stakeholders and crew

Alongside our day-to-day shows, you will have the opportunity to sell and execute private shows, festival booking curations and build out a commercial portfolio, as well as book and advance our annual Sofar Fringe festival. 

Reporting into the GM of London, you’ll join a team of passionate, creative folks that are ensuring the success of thousands of Sofar shows around the world. This is a phenomenal opportunity for someone who lives and breathes music, has commercial acumen and is deeply plugged into London’s creative and cultural scene. Please note that this position is based in London. 

  • Curate our shows by booking the best local artists across a complex show schedule (30-40 shows per month).

  • In the lineups you curate, you’ll include artists from all genres and across all demographics, whilst keeping the standard and quality high.

  • Curate experiences that fans want to come back to again and again.

  • Oversee production and artist setups for all shows. 

  • Artist fee negotiations for bigger shows, private shows and premium experiences.

  • Support marketing efforts by highlighting artist USP’s and collecting key marketing information.

  • Monitor show feedback to ensure show quality remains high and we are continuing to improve our booking strategy in line with customer demands.

  • Support freelance producers with their artist bookings as needed. 

  • Oversee new artist applications, committee and onboarding process, ensuring artists with good feedback get booked again.

  • Actively seek artists that will drive attendance and awareness.

  • Build strong relationships with our artist community, organising Jam nights and other engagement initiatives. 

  • Build relationships with managers, labels, publicists and agents to book artists on the rise and curate artist-led experiences. 

  • Have your finger on the pulse of commercial opportunities, selling private shows and curating premium experiences. 

  • Give direction to the Bookings & Operations Assistant.

  • Proactively represent Sofar in the community.

  • You have 4+ years of experience as a promoter, booking live music events or event production.
  • You already have a network of contacts in the industry that can be tapped into.
  • You can assess the quality of an artist without judgement, and no matter your genre preference. Ensuring each artist gets a fair assessment of their live performance, no matter their social following. 
  • You have exceptional time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • You’re an engaging and clear communicator who can manage different personality types with empathy.
  • You’re highly organisational, and can easily maintain efficient operations and systems.
  • You have a track record of upholding quality – even in high volume environments.
  • You have a strong sense of ownership; self-motivated with a willingness and eagerness to learn.
  • You have a commercial mindset and can spot opportunities.
  • You have knowledge of the music industry, including current trends and market demands.
  • You spend most of your spare time at gigs, festivals and live and breathe new music.
  • You have a passion for the live events industry and emerging talent.
  • You take initiative; are driven and a hard-working individual with a growth mindset. 
  • You keep calm under pressure and are a good problem solver. 
  • You have a passion for shaping London culture through music driven experiences.
