Position : Junior Accountant

Work Hours (Client) : Monday to Friday - 8 am - 4pm CST Full-time, Permanent     

Pay Range : $1500 - $2000 USD/month (varies based on skill set and experience level)

Location of Search : South Africa, LATAM, Philippines or any region

Company/Client Overview
The company is a growing asset management firm specializing in multifamily assets, particularly in affordable housing. With 100 apartments currently under management and plans for expansion into third-party property management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Junior Staff Accountant to support the accounting and finance team with day-to-day financial operations. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who has some exposure to real estate or property management accounting and is eager to grow.

You will work closely with senior accountants and leadership, assisting with transactional tasks, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple properties.

Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Accounting Support

• Perform bank reconciliations across multiple entities and properties
• Assist with general ledger reconciliations
• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions
• Pull and organize bank statements and financial data
• Support accounts payable and receivable processes

Financial Data Management

• Ensure accuracy between systems such as AppFolio and QuickBooks
• Assist in maintaining clean and organized financial records
• Support month-end close processes

Property-Level Support

• Help track property-level financials (rent collections, expenses, cash flow)
• Assist in identifying discrepancies or missing data
• Work with the team to ensure financial data aligns with property operations

Reporting Assistance

• Support preparation of monthly financial reports
• Assist senior team members with variance analysis and reporting tasks
• Compile data needed for internal and investor reporting

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with senior accountants and leadership
• Participate in regular team check-ins and communication via Teams
• Support ad hoc accounting and finance tasks as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

Language requirement: Excellent English Communication Skills

Education: Bachelor's Degree

• 1–3 years of accounting experience (real estate experience preferred)
• Experience working on AppFolio or Yardi 
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping and financial statements
• Experience with QuickBooks (preferred but not required)
• Strong Excel skills (basic formulas, data organization)
• Good written and verbal English communication skills

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

• Experience in property management or real estate accounting
• Familiarity with multiple-entity accounting
• Experience working in a remote team environment
